Default GS150: When to set tappets?

    Salams.

Yesterday I went to Suzuki workshop for my bike GS150 1st tuneup at 750 Kms... They serviced and changed the oil along with oil filter, but they did'nt set the tappets and didn't adjust the carb or air/fuel mixture.. When I asked him to adjust the tappets, he said new bikes tappets are tightened after 5000 kms...

Is that so, or the mechanic was making a mistake? Note that the workshop is U.R Motors which is owned by suzuki itself.

AOA buddy, as a proud owner of a gs150 which has seen 30000kms up till now i can tell you that if you change your oil after every 800km and oil filter after every 2000km then InshaAllah you wont need to adjust valve clearance just like me, my bike only gets its tappets inspected and nothing more and according to my suzuki mechanic my bike's engine is in superb condition . Hope this helps.

means they're automatically adjusted by themselves no need to pin them they're just inspected after first 3000kms
