Smile Classic Bikes Collection / Triumph_Harley Davidson etc etc

    Salam Pak Wheelers,
Lets share some history of Motorcycle specially about Triumph/Harley Davidson etc. You fellows are welcomed to share you knowledge about old/ historical bikes here specially about earlier models of bikes.

In 1901 English bicycle maker Royal Enfield introduced its first motorcycle, with a 239 cc engine mounted in the front and driving the rear wheel through a belt. In 1898, English bicycle maker Triumph decided to extend its focus to include motorcycles, and by 1902, the company had produced its first motorcycle?a bicycle fitted with a Belgian-built engine. In 1903, as Triumph's motorcycle sales topped 500, the American company Harley-Davidson started producing motorcycles.
In 1901, the Indian Motorcycle Manufacturing Company, which had been founded by two former bicycle racers, designed the so-called "diamond framed" Indian Single, whose engine was built by the Aurora Firm in Illinois per Indian's specifications. The Single was made available in the deep blue. Indian's production was up to over 500 bikes by 1902, and would rise to 32,000, its best ever, in 1913.
During this period, experimentation and innovation were driven by the popular new sport of motorcycle racing, with its powerful incentive to produce tough, fast, reliable machines. These enhancements quickly found their way to the public?s machines.
The 1911 Triumph is widely known as the first useable & reliable motorcycle ever produced till that time.
Now I m sharing here some unique photographs of Triumph motorcycle model 1911 with 3.5 H.P. motor which was considered as most reliable bike of that time.

Catalogue shows that the price of Triumph 1911 was UKP 55.00 at that time.

This is Yamaha's first motorcycle, the YA-1.
    Yamaha YA-1 (Model 1955)
Yamaha made entry into the fiercely competitive Japanese motorcycle market with this sleek lightweight, modeled after the famous German DKW RT125. Measuring 1980 mm (78 in.) in overall length and powered by a 2-stroke single cylinder 123 cc 5.6 hp engine, the machine was fitted with a new 4-spped gearbox as compared with the original DKW’s 3-speed unit. Tire size was 2.75-19. Harley Davidson V-Rods Bike
Classic Bikes Collection TriumphHarley Davidson etc etc -1428903Classic Bikes Collection TriumphHarley Davidson etc etc -1428904

1250 cc engines with 6000-8000 rpms can easily find 100 mph with little effort.
V-Rods feature water-cooled engines which can reach 60 miles per hour in 3.5 seconds! Now that’s power!

The 2013 Harley Davidson V-Rod Musclehas been compared to the 2013 Husqvarna TR650 Terra and the 2013 BMW R1200R. Both are lighter weight bikes with drag race frames, have powerful engines. However, diehard Harley fans argue the balance, comfort, and control of the V-Rod is superior. Thts the quality of Harley.
