People have attached a lot of fake expectations with Yamaha while in reality i don't think they are gonna be any different than what current companies are offering.
First, they tell the world they have plans to invest 100 million in Pakistan, and later clarify that this investment will be in a period of FIVE years. Getting something? Plus, even if they go full speed, they aren't gonna get ready to manufacture something before 2016 which is really not that far.
So what can they POSSIBLE bring new to the table in 2016? Please don't forget to bring in the People aspect (their literacy level and mind set) and the sales figure to balance the argument. Even if Yamaha releases something advanced, only a handful of people buy it. Some will point fingers at their quality (comon, we all know how bad bikes produced in Pakistan can get), some will complain about other aspects, and quite possibly price too. At the end of the day, if Yamaha wants to survive, they will have to Sale More.
So what makes you think they are gonna introduce (read: gamble) something which don't have the slightest possibility of getting high sales. Guess what. It'll be the same stuff we are seeing NOW in the form of GD110 etc. And considering that the present companies are not feeling any threat from Yamaha's existence, solidify what i am trying to say here.
Yamaha haven't even showed ANYTHING regarding the stuff they are gonna manufacture. They haven't given us any hint on the Engines, the Models of Bikes ... NOTHING. If people are believing their shouts saying "We'll bring Latest Technology" then DON'T FORGET what Atlas HONDA or even Pak Suzuki calls "New Technology".
Anyway, the reason i am being skeptical about some people's views regarding Yamaha's arrival ... is because THEY ARE EXPECTING TOO MUCH. Its Pakistan. Yahan pe abhi tak Mehran change nahi hui, CG125 khaak change ho ga.
