Default Need info about HIDs on bike

    Hi guys,

Needed your help regarding HIDs for my Yamaha Junoon. .. I know many people are very against them but it's very imp for me since my work place is 30kms away from my home, its a long ride and at night time when all upcoming traffic (specially corrolla guys) use high beams you can't see anything at all for good 5 seconds!
It's too risky for me to drive like that on a high speed road...

I wonna install an HID and a switch through which I shall be able to turn it off when I get off from that particular road which has no street lights and is curved and cars flash light straight in ur eyes!

    Plz tell me:
Would I have to change my headlight? Iv heard plastic lenses melt?
    Cost?
What's a proper HID setup with a good battery charger? I don't want a flashing HID...
Would I need a bigger dry battery - any suggestions for those?

My observation is HID flickers when the battery is not present (in my case one of the battery terminal was unplugged)..
I have proper HID blaster and it has got only one beam that is high beam (hid beam was a retro fit) along with low beam normal bulb..

I have a question: Which battery is suitable to be used with HID. I am having poor performance of dry battery with my HIDs. I have even changed the rectifier but the result is not very good.

Can anyone tell which bike's reflector provides good light focus, and comes in round shape like GS???
GS150's 35w bulb feels very bright to look at but reflector deos terrible job to properly utilize all that light.

Xandau is available at murree road for 600rs and 100rs extra for back housing. But its really a small light, i think something like 5". Will look realy wierd on bike as big as GS150. I bought same headlamp with front glass and interior metal finish for 700rs from Karachi (headlight is 7")

Yes you are right. Camera don't do the justice. Human eye is much more sensitive than camera lens. In any case HID don't belong to helogen. And look at the last picture taken from side. Scattering at best and HID at fail. Anyways your bike and your decission. Good luck riding with "ache- eye -Discharge"..

Bike hids are available in market cost around 1200-1500rs.
buy the single point which is good.

    1.Bigger charger.
2.Bigger battery/Normal one can still work but it will work for 4months max.
3.Wiring electrician will do the job.
4.glass headlight one will work only.

    do not use dry battery.
use battery of 12 volt (9 ampere or more then 9 ampere)
use original rectifier of 12v with automatic switching mode. (5 wire's rectifier)
