Thread: Installing Deluxe Shocks+Disk Brake on GS150

    Unhappy Installing Deluxe Shocks+Disk Brake on GS150

    Hi everybody
    So here is the story.
    After a bit of collecting info, i came to conclusion that it'll be piece of cake to buy complete Deluxe front and install it on GS. So i went ahead and told my brother in Lahore to get the parts and send to me.
    Well parts arrived and i went to city, recieved the parts from Daewoo Cargo and arrived at Suzuki service center.
    Opened the package and started checking the parts and found out that not even a single bolt was included in the package, plus the speedometer cable plate was also missing. Bummer. Anyway, i thought it's ok, i'll get them parceled from Lahore as well.
    But after examining the shocks, mechanic told me that these shocks can't be fitted on GS's stock "Ainac" because they use different tighting mechanism at the top. So i said ok, i'll get the Deluxe's Ainac as well along with the bolts.
    But also little worried now, what if Deluxe's Ainac don't fit and if it fits, what if it doesn't match the lower Ainac (part of handle T) of GS??? I was totally counting on the easy replacement of shocks.

    Lots of hassle and can't really check and compare the parts at spot as nothing is available in my city
    Don't know if i'll be able to complete this project in my city, may be i will need to be in Lahore myself with bike to get it done.

    frankly I see it killing a bird with cannon, big hassel lot of money spent, and more to be spended just for a brake?

    I hope u did the home work of comparison of Diff b/w both setups ?
    did you checked the circumference of the Shock ROD ? its different in GS and Deluxe... ainak change was evident .. or you had to go for bushes ?

    Whats plan b though ? just curios...

    he could have changed one tube ( like blue horn's gs150 or fit it like the boss junaid bhai did )

    It is all the fault of Pak Suzuki for not offering this option in GS150
    Instead of launching stupid paint schemes tehy should have done the disc brake instead
    stupid jahil managment

    but harris groove my words for GS150 upgrading to Dics setup is piece of cake. all you need it to visit a salavage bikes shop. Standard bolt to bolt fitting GS150 complete front can be sourced no ainak alteration no hassle of Meter cable simple pull out old front and put in new front like @12gauge even he did that with brand new stuff.. but old fronts are readily available as well..

    bro, I had like an hour of discussion with @12gauge and what he told me was totally astonishing, and yes for a little technical guy who plays with rides like @hidalgo its a matter of half an hour to swap a complete front and bike would be on road.

    Hahaha you nailed it right..I have seen Hidalgo's rides most of the time in a disassembled state than being fully assembled

    Why not contact a guy who bought and review "GS 150 Tour-King" on Pakwheels, that bike has all such accessories in 15,000 extra bucks ..

    bas I hope Gull ki cheez ban jie paisay na zaya ho jien kahi ... all is well if end is well... if every thing sucessfully fits in tu khair hai ab tu saman lay he liya hai bhai nay..

    agar gs k bolt ni lag rahe to kabar market se cg ki thread wale bolt lelo jinki washer built-in ho
    is liye k outer diameter of shafts is same of gs and cg y bolt mil jainge GS ki apni T pe kam hojayega

    i am glad you stopped at the ainak and didnt end up buying the whole deluxe in parts. Anyways buddy best of luck, the bikes looks so cool without its chlothes. maybe you can modify and give it some character

    this seems the simple solution provided that i can find required bolts.
    I don't wanna go for T+ainac change because that'll come with its own compatibility problems
    i just need to find a way to get shock's head tightened and sealed properly on the stock ainac.
    I think if i put an extra washer between the ainac and head bolts, that will cause more distance between shock and bolt and result in poor tightening and may be oil leakage. So finding a compatible bolt with a washer built in is my best bet.

    listen Gull : find a good machinist to make you two bolts which are like GS from Upper area to seal it properly and from inside its thread must be exactly like Deluxe... get the hard Industrial chromed and then Nickled to get there strenght back ... and enjoy ...
