Unhappy Installing Deluxe Shocks+Disk Brake on GS150

    Hi everybody
    So here is the story.
After a bit of collecting info, i came to conclusion that it'll be piece of cake to buy complete Deluxe front and install it on GS. So i went ahead and told my brother in Lahore to get the parts and send to me.
Well parts arrived and i went to city, recieved the parts from Daewoo Cargo and arrived at Suzuki service center.
Opened the package and started checking the parts and found out that not even a single bolt was included in the package, plus the speedometer cable plate was also missing. Bummer. Anyway, i thought it's ok, i'll get them parceled from Lahore as well.
But after examining the shocks, mechanic told me that these shocks can't be fitted on GS's stock "Ainac" because they use different tighting mechanism at the top. So i said ok, i'll get the Deluxe's Ainac as well along with the bolts.
But also little worried now, what if Deluxe's Ainac don't fit and if it fits, what if it doesn't match the lower Ainac (part of handle T) of GS??? I was totally counting on the easy replacement of shocks.

Lots of hassle and can't really check and compare the parts at spot as nothing is available in my city
Don't know if i'll be able to complete this project in my city, may be i will need to be in Lahore myself with bike to get it done.

He won't change the car because of emotional reasons so i have to keep it fit by admitting it in workshop every 6 months or so
This time had to take the whole engine out and replace the gear box as stock one was giving up now.

Now back to topic, the guy didn't provide any bolt with disc brake setup. Each bolt is unique size and make with washers and stuff and i don't think aftermarket bolts gonna seal the pipe properly, then there are caliper to shock bolts and disc to hub bolts. The guy said he doesn't have any bolts so i am thinking of asking him to simply refund as he didn't provide the whole package.
The whole point of buying new stuff was not to face hassles but it all went opposite.

i compared with a Deluxe, column length is not same. even both shocks gap is about half an inch narrower on Deluxe but i think that shouldn't be a problem.

Now two options are left ... Just change the bottle or get that plate which most peoples have installed disc(you will just need the disc brake stuff nothing else)

GS ka bolt to charta hi nahi hai Deluxe shocks ke head pe
Will try CG bolt, as it uses same mechanism as GS and being a Honda may be compatible with Deluxe shocks.

Our resident GS-150 expert giving up so soon? lols!

Bro, pursuing a difficult task only makes it more pleasurable. anyways, caliper to shock bolts can be found at almost any specialized bolt supplier shop. kindly allow me to correct some misconception here, bolts ( no matter what size and shape) are very easy to find. would you like me to help you find some?

moving on, the same bolt supplier can also provide you bolts which fix disk to the hub and the bolts that fix hydraulic line to the master cylinder and the caliper. there shouldn't be a problem here.

you can get china bolts for Rs. 5 a pop or you can opt for some quality bolts which can be as expensive as Rs. 25 a pop. I would stay clear of the Rs. 5 stuff as they have a tendency of slipping.

    Regards.

Bro, in my limited knowledge you need four socket bolts (allen key bolts) that fix disk (plate) to the wheel hub. you need two hex bolts (with collar) to attach caliper to the shock's lower bottles. you need two hex bolts (with perspex aka plastic washers) to fix hydraulic line (pipe) to the brake lever at one end and to brake caliper at the other end.

    Regards.

Bro, these are shock bolts and as the picture suggests they are part of a front shock assembly hence provided with shocks.
