Default Want to buy a new GS 150, but don't know where to buy from..:-(

    Dear Wheelers,

    Assalam-O-Alaikum,

I've been planning to buy a Suzuki GS 150 for a while, and now I am in the position to own one. I went to different Suzuki showrooms, but came back with a confused mind that from where should I buy the GS.

The problem arose when I visited several Suzuki Dealers like, I.G Moters, Carachi Motors and Pak Suzuki outlet, U.R Suzuki.

The dealers are offering free registration on the purchase of a motorcycle. i.e 3500 for registration is waived. i.e the final price will be 111500/=.
U.R Suzuki is asking for 111000/= for the bike and 3500 for registration. i.e 1,14500/=.

Apart from the difference in the amount, the documents are not the same as well.
The dealers are providing the photo copy of Pak suzuki Invoice, as they buy bikes in bulk from Pak Suzuki on their showroom's name. They have invoices having 4 or 5 bike mentioned in one invoice. Buyer's name will not be mentioned on the invoice. That?s why they are providing a photo copy of the Invoice to the customers.

While U.R suzuki is giving original Invoice of Pak Suzuki with buyer's details mentioned on it.

Other than that, I don't find any difference in both the deals.

Now I need advises from fellow pakwheelers, who might have been gone through the same process while purchasing a Suzuki bike.

    JazakAllah Khair.

    Dear Atif,
You are right about what you mentioned above in your post. The matter of fact is that dealer can't give you orignal invoice as sometimes 10 bikes are sold on single invoice so don't you worry, hundreads of customers buy in this manner, you won't face any problem in registeration as the dealer will do the dealings with the excise & taxation dept. On the other hand, UR Suzuki is a company operated showroom and can only invoice on retail price whereas the invoice given by dealer will be on wholesale price. So go for any option that suits you and don't worry.

Won't it effect the resale value of the bike as we won't be having the original invoice with us in the documents?

No impact on resale value as you'll get original registeration letter from Paksuzuki in your name.

Thanks a lot for the advise Jadoon. I am not going to remove the side mirrors. I consider them as important as bike's engine.:-).
I will create a new thread soon, INshaAllah. Btw, the first ride was brilliant. I enjoyed it a lot. I need one suggestion, is there any way to lock the side covers. The mechanic at U.R Suzuki told me that they will lock it with nuts and bolts, so that it would be theft safe. Don't know how exactly they will do it. And offcourse, the brakes are not OK at all. I think it might need some time to adjust the brake shoes in the drums. Lets see.

    JazakAllah Khair.

I have seen people drill a hole some where in the highlighted area below and it serves well.

Brake shoe will set in by the time. No worries. Incase you feel less grip then ask your mechanic to make shoe surface a bit rough using saw (normally to cut iron pipes).

    Congrats on your new bike

Side cover can be locked by making a small hole with Kaavya and use cable ties to tight them with frame pipe.
you can leave the cable ties a little loose so that you can remove side cover whenever required without having have to cut the cable ties.

Drum brakes can work pretty fine but may require a bit attention time to time.
The genuine brake shoes are coming little smaller than they should be, which results in more gap between pads and drum. So you have to press the lever longer to get them in contact with drum. But by the time they touch the drum, you are almost already out of lever which result in poor braking.
Front brake of my GS is working fine but rear brake was so so. I got brake shoes changed at 4000Km but still result same. Then i applied a little "Jugaar" to get them closer to the drums. Just wrapped this wire at this end to lift the shoes a little bit. Happy with rear brake now.

Thanks. Bike's price was 1,11000/= + 3,500/= for registration. So I paid 1,14,500/= in total.

Ahsan is right. If you buy it from any dealer, they will offer you free registration. But if you will take it from Suzuki Company operated showroom, they will charge you the registration fee apart from bike's cost.
