Source please. I have no such information. Lambretta is a defunct company worldwide with nothing in production. Only Vespa has revived itself modern liquid/aircooled efi machines banking on classic heritage and style. So, I highly doubt this to be true. www.vespa.com

Please post the link. I would like to have a look as well.

The answer to the second questions is that I find it hard to digest that such a big name in the motoring world would consider Pakistan when it has no solid technological basis as compared to China or India, which owned right to produce Lambretta when the Italian factory closed down. And very recently have acquired rights to produce the modern Vespas in India.

not a chance - lack of ejucushion and the short sightedness of throwaway mentality cannot be remedied. For general people everything is "kaam chalao item" - no one believes in longevity or quality.

It works for everything except food in Pakistan.

e.g. a person will not agree to pay high price for a bad tasting biryani from China (rehri) - OTOH Pakistan loves Japan, so much so that you can sell that same "chinese biryani" under a japanese brand name - and it will sell like corolla escalai at discount prices.

The status of the Lambretta trade name is unclear, in early seventies Indian government bought the closed down factory and the trade name. Then there was some change (I don't know what) and they stopped using the Lambretta name for their scooters.

Since 2011, a Taiwanese company (SYM) is manufacturing Lambretta scooters using their Taiwanese built engines, only some steel body parts are made in Italy. They have opted for the old 60s design instead of a modern one.

Answer to your question: Since it is a Taiwanese built scooter it should be able to compete with Chinese products.

The real question for me is: Would Pakistanis buy a 1960s design scooter? The SYM scooters have a modern design. Photos from Wikipedia SYM page:
