Default Finally bought my new GS-150

Alhamdullilah bought new GS-150. I bought it on 20th March but got a chance now to start a thread and share pictures with all of you.
Luckily I have got a good one. I don't see any rusting on the frame or on silencer as other fellow PW members have reported before. Meter is showing correct speed, no chain cover issue, no 2nd gear katak sound. Well it is there and I feel it very first time at the start of the day after warming engine up for 2-3 minutes when I apply 1st gear and after that I don't feel anymore throughout the day... (this is bit strange). Rest of the switching among gears is very smooth..

I have done 215km on it now... I am not going hard on it during its break in period. I clock max 45-50km. Please recommed a good oil. I would like to change it after completing 300km. I know there is a thread from Amjad brother on oils but I am not sure where can I get LM and I am also not sure if it will suit brand new engine. I have two pack bottles of Castrol GTX 20-50 and 1 bottle of Shell Advance AX5 1L. Which one should I put after 300km in this weather condition? Suggestions please?

Update: 750kms done. Calculated average 45.43 km per liter MashAllah.

GD is best for commuting within the city but GS is very cool for long rides.

If you are planning to go to long routes then GS150 otherwise GD110.

GD110 and GS-150 both have OHC engines... you can check in their specifications... CG125 and Piaggio both have OHV engines.

Also, GS-150 is the only local bike that is having an OHC engine and more than 110cc category

Default Update: 750kms done. Calculated average 45.43 km per liter MashAllah.

In 9.2 liters, this beast covered 418kms....
Shall I blame the engine oil I am using???

    May be, yes

After 275kms I drained the black water of SGO oil and poured AX5, as I have mentioned in the first post that I had one packed bottle of AX5. It worked well but not up to the expectations and I had to change it because oil level was low (1L was not even enough for it?) and expectation was also not up to the mark and it also vanished from market and Shell pumps :O. Finally, after arguing with my friend in Karachi I chose Mobil1 Super 2000 x2 semi synthetic 10w-40 oil. I know I can get some comments that this oil is not meant for bikes but it has worked so well for this bike. The engine sound has become very quiet, the heating problem is gone and warming up time has been also reduced (at the start of the day). My friend in Karachi is using Mobil1 5w-50 fully synthetic and when he told me about it I argued with him that this is not meant for bikes and you may ruin your brand new 150 engine... He explained me the whole story and convinced me gradually... like first of all the rating/grading. 5w-50 means best for freezing winters and best for very hot summers. There is no reason to explain synthetic oil, now most of us know about it. The draining interval of this 5w-50 Mobil1 is 3000kms but he recommended to drain after 2500km. He got it for Rs. 1200 (1L bottle) and completed 1500 km on it up till now.
Since I have been using mineral oils previously, therefore, I decided to go for semi synthetic first i.e. Mobil1 Super 2000 10w-40 and then will switch to 5w-50 fully synthetic.

I bought this Mobil Super 2000 1L bottle for Rs. 650 from filter house, ferozpur road (opposite Qaddafi stadium)

Finally bought my new GS150 -1407997

Never use car oil in your bike
It will damage the wet clutch

    Default Tyre changed :)

There were DSIs, Dunlops, Shinko (Korean), IRS (Japanese), Swallow (Indonesian) but I picked local Panther Trekker tyre 90/90-18 due to limited budget and I also dont want to affect the performance of my bike due to wider/bulkier 100/90 or 110/90 tyre.

I also got the wheel alignment done on both front and rear rims. The rear wanted alignment very badly. Except the rear tyre and horn everything else is stock.

On my way back home, raining started lolz... please dont mind the old stock tyre resting on my seat. I saved this for a friend who will install it in his Sprinter. The initial impression is awesome even though its a local made tyre.
