Im not sure how much CD175 engine is worth...... can anyone help me determine the price of a dead CD-175 engine. The Timing chain broken 3 years ago and it has been sitting like that since then.

I found a mechanic who can rebuild these engines. He was asking like 20k to completely rebuilt the engine I had.

So the question is........ how much should be a fair price for such engine?

Thats what I suspected...... I wont be able to grab more than that.
I'll raher keep it...... Not bcoz of the price... but bcoz I know for a fact local mechanics rebuilt these engines with generator engine parts...... so basically handing it over to someone else is more like killing it...... no offense intended sarsalan

    I did some calculations....
If I order brand new OEM stuff for the engine and built it myself....... I will end up spending 30k on parts alone...... but for that.... I'll get a newly built CD-175 engine with all OEM parts.... I think its definitely worth it.

Do you have a frame? If you want to restore than buy cd185...... its cheaper than cd200.... the frame is the same.....just have a smaller engine...... CD200 parts are compatible with cd185.... that is not the case with cd175......

You wont be able source parts for cd175 locally...cd175 was in production for 12 years whereas cd200 was in production for 21 years.... dubai ka buhat spare ata hai ranchore-line per cd-200 ka......... cd175 ki resale isi liye tow kam hai... no spares in market.... piston ke rings tak tow milte nahi hai...... engine kahan say banay ga.

    For a restoration project....look for a cd185 or cd200........ if you are thinking of modification......look for a cd175.......dead cd175 will cost you arround 15k....... dead cd200 atleast 30k....maybe more.
