It has been declared "illegal" to ride an "Applied for / brand new" bike, without number plates installed. You are only allowed to ride it like 100-200KM or like 2-3 days MAX.
Wardens don't really disturb you for this issue, but Muhafiz/Pubjab Police will mow you down. So better be careful.
Apply for Registration, and when you get your Registration Number LEX-0000 or whatever it is ... get a custom number plates made, and install them. Make sure:
- NOT to spend unnecessary amount on number plates, because in the cost of registration you have already paid for the Computerized ones (check receipt for clarification)
- DO NOT and i repeat, DO NOT go for fancy number plates. There is a crackdown going on in Lahore against these (and the plastic/glass plates). If police stops you for it, they will simply BREAK/DESTORY those plastic ones. Ask the plater maker to keep the design ditto to the original number plates. (they already know about this issue regarding custom plates and police's reaction against them)
