Default Help choose a 125 or 150cc bike!

    Aoa guys...

Help me decide which bike should I buy? My daily commute is 35+35 = 70kms... hence I need a bigger bike, currently I own a 2010 Yamaha Junoon which I shall be putting up for sale soon...

Since I have a busy schedule and long commute my preference is of a reliable bike, comfortable and trouble free. I have kept Junoon for 4yrs and what I hated the most was lack of after sales and mechanics resulting in huge time waste... since I now have a job, I don't afford time wastage...

Help me choose amongst the following bikes:

    HONDA CG 125 CLASSIC.....102,500Rs
    HONDA CG DREAM..... 105,900Rs
    HONDA CG 125 DELUXE..... 124,000Rs

    SUZUKI GS 150..... 119,500Rs

    RAVI PIAGGIO STORM 125..... 112,000Rs

Im not a Honda fan... and I expect that very soon Atlas Honda is going to suffer from same fate as dyl... I think Honda Japan would take over and kick atlas out very soon... should I buy an atlas honda bike?

I personally like Ravi Piaggio a lot... but is it a trouble free bike? With good after sales? Or I would have to worry and run for claims and issues in my new bike? (Which kills the reliability part )

Has the quality of GS150 improved after the recent price hike? 119,500 is insane price for GS as per Suzuki's pricing history...

Expert opinions required: @vickytulla ? Others... plz pour feedback

    Thnx!

Amongst 14 working hours of a day... 10hrs+ of mine are spent at office and in commute, nothing is left with me to visit mechanics if something goes wrong... with RP a greater risk is there for me to face khauri.. in case I end up with a bad piece..

And I asked Ravi's own mechanic about his opinion about this bike...! Even the authorized ravi mechanic himself says that this bike is for shoukeen people only.. practical choice is honda then what else verification do i need?

The thing is, the bike is great.. but i don't afford to take unnecessary risk! CG Dream offers me a blend of both... the good old Cg vibrator engine, with a little better styled body...

Ravi's any kind of official presence is 6,7kms away from my home.. whereas honda's authorized mechanics and genuine spares are available within 1km of my home.. and not just one mechanic... many authorized mechanics...

That makes a difference bhai... its about being reliable at job... its not about owning a comfortable or classy bike..!

Vicky was right and thats what my opinion was... convenient reliability is only with honda... no other brand at all...

People just come and post their fancy rides on this forum.. get likes and comments, but they don't post how much khuar they got on their various issues!

And the main dealer is at bhubatian chowk because he gets direct supply from factory first and then others... he might have a few parts in stock others have none...

The bhubatian chowk dealer, iv seen that too... nothing fancy yeah... but did u check the mecloed road authorized mechanic? just ONE lift.... sitting idle nothing to do, a young guy who knows nothing much about bikes.... a khudda like small facility with no proper tools and not even good skill.... this tells how serious the company is...

I was in same dilemma as you were before buying my bike, i tested all these bikes and then RP was my choice , but each and every mechanic said me this is not a good bike because they don't know this bike, they won't keep it's parts because it's margin is too low (IMHO) . These mechanics never adapt change, it's the same thing when EFI cars were introduced and every mechanic was like yeh bekaar hai but did they stopped people from buying EFI aka electronic cars (not electric cars) ? Im in rawalpindi and i visited Kohati bazar Shiekh Usman for any issues all other mechanics just see the bike and say stupid things they don't know. and they have stock if i can get stock in RWP why can't you guys get it lahore , this bike is 112 in LHR and 115k in RWP. You indeed made a good choice but you turned down RP only beacuse of the mechanic talk wasn't impressive thing to do

    Sprinter or Raider has,

    Pros:

    1. Very Powerful.
    2. Most fuel efficient in the 'Pakistani market'. Even having 109cc capacity I am receiving 68km/liter with average speed of 65km/h. Previously I owned Star DL 70 and was getting 65 km/liter under similar running conditions.
    3. Strong, Rough n tough. Engine, chasis and other things I have found very robust.
    4. Maintenance free. I am with this bike for 2 years now and it has been trouble free. Twice I drove in thunder storm / heavy downpour, but this bike didn't ask me anything, didn't get shutoff. Drum ball bearings, brake shoes were remained safe unlike 70cc (not sure about 125cc class). Only twice in 2 years I leveled the battery water which indicates the quality of its electronics.

In the last run of 10,000kms its tappet settings does not require mechanic's hands. Only thing is to wash air filter and proper oil change intervals.

    5. Very low Vibrations. This bike has almost zero vibrations. You can ask me any speed. 80, 90, 100km/h, only thing you need is a safe path.

    6. Road grip and Control: Road grip is always excellent and I found this bike very smooth. App k pair say zameen nikalti mehsoos nahi hoti even you are speeding around 100 105km/h.

    7. Top speed I got is 115km/h even I am a derpook rider.

    8. Sudden acceleration I got, from 0 - 70km/h in just 3 - 4 seconds.

    9. Slim and smart and very good power to weight ratio.

    Cons:

    1. Low comfort level on stock settings. It has inclined seat which cause a rider to slip. Smaller rear jumps have less space to work and added to this, the rare mudguard is too near which makes it even more discomfort. Hard settings makes your ride uncomfortable. Soft settings wont allow pillion rider otherwise mudguard will come in the way.

    But,

In the last 2 years I have been able to improve the comfort level to a great deal. I will be posting a separate thread on this. What I have done.

    - I have reduced the inclined angle of seat makes it bit more straight like of Sprinter ECO.
    - Increase the length of jumps and stretched the springs to match the increased length.
    - Raise the rare mudguard, installed it to a position more near to chasis. Let say if in stock setting there is gape of 1 or 1.5 inches between the mudguard and the chasis, I have reduced it to mere few cms.
    - Installed 2 inches spacers in front shocks. Result has been good less strain on shoulders.

This way jumps gain more space for working without touching the mudguard. I have done this 2 months before and I am quiet happy with this small DIY.

In the last, my daily ride is 50- 55km, 1600km a month. Right now I am fully satisfied with its overall performance and especially after having the above comfort DIY.

    Thanks.

Seat is not an issue. Its also a personal choice, I found Sprinter seat adequate.

Any good seat maker can make a custom-ed seat for you. You can take the example of Waqas bhai who owns GD110 in red.
