Question Help me buy my first bike

    Hey guys,

I have decided to buy myself a 125. Only question is: Should I buy a 0-meter Unique UD125 or a used 2011-12 Honda CG125? Since both would roughly cost the same (70-75k), I need to know which option is better. People say a used bike will cause lots of problems, regardless of the make. So I'm a bit confused. Reliable but used Honda or a 0-meter Unique?

I have no experience with bikes, whatsoever. The only bike I have ever used was my brother's Honda CD100. Personally, I didn't really fancy that bike. Didn't look as good as the 125.

Also, it'd be nice to know how much fuel the 125 will need on a daily basis to commute 10KMs (total journey) to and from my university.

Hoping you'll help sort this out.
    Cheers.

Honda is a better choice here, try finding one under warranty and in 75-80ks you can get one driven under 5,000kms...

But the thing is warranty is considered void as soon as you transfer it on your name... warranty is for first buyer only.
Hence try finding a bike on open letter... or find a friend/ relatives bike who wants to change... get a deal done with affidavit that you would get transfer after 3,4 months when the warranty is over.

Unique would give u bad milage and starting problems

You are from Karachi so better go for brand new Unique-125, GS or Ravi Piaggio.
But Honda CG125 no way!! Can be a life threat.

brother unique 100 cc with feature is a good bike [ more fuel efficent]

if you are thinking for solid bike in 125cc then ravio piaggio

do purchase a new one ,rather going for old

10 km one way or two way?

it isnt a big distance , whatever you buy but the one that has good brakes , and offering more features

I don't think it matters to the snatchers whether the bike's a Honda or a Unique. The risk of theft is equal for both. Is it possible to get the bike (new or used) insured against theft/damage?

I don't think it will bother the snatchers whether the bike's a Honda or a Unique. The risk of theft is probably equal for both. My brother-in-law bought a CD70 and had it snatched just 4 days later. :C They don't really care which bike they get their hands on. I was wondering if it's possible to get the bike insured against theft/damage?

Thanks for the suggestions, bro! But I've already made up my mind for the classic 125. I've always admired its simplicity ever since I first laid eyes on it. My brother used to take me for a ride around the block back when I was a kid. Suddenly speeding up and slowing down when I used to yell at him, scared out of my wits! Felt really great!

To be honest, I'm a bit scared to invest such a big amount on a used bike. 80k is a bit out of my budget. Besides, I get to pay in installments for the Unique which seems more appropriate. Although, the total cost after 15-16months of payments would turn out to be somewhere around 100k but at least I wouldn't need to ask my dad for lump sum cash and endure his taunts for the rest of my days. lol
