Red face My new CG Classic... (automotorsport_lover)

Updated: Bought Honda CG 125 Classic on 31st May 2014

My new CG Classic automotorsportlover -1430374My new CG Classic automotorsportlover -1430375

    Ride & Impression:
After riding Yamaha Junoon for 4 years, CG feels quite different.
Its not smooth or refined as Junoon but surely is brute raw power! Tourqe at low RPMs is good but at 6000-9000 Rpms you can feel the best acceleration!

I'd describe CG Classic as: Simple, Robust, Reliable & Raw. A work horse.

    Build Quality:
Build quality of Honda is indeed good, nice paint & chrome finish along with a crisp sounding engine. Another thing that I have noticed in Honda is that it does not need much running/break-in. I have driven her below 50Km/hr for the first 500Kms and after that I felt she had broken-in enough. I started slowly increasing speeds & lately I have also touched 90 km/hr but no signs of her getting annoyed or something. Did't even feel her heating up... this makes me think that either Honda bikes have better engine fitting or these come half broken-in from the factory... Im not sure though.

I also noticed that the user manual of my Honda did not stress that much on the break-in process as much as my Yamaha's did. I now frequently cruise at 70-80Km/hr and she never minds!

    Flaws:
There are no major flaws a.k.a. factory defects in a CG. Yes the rims needed allignment (well that goes for all new bikes) but I don't mind since I had to get the rims and mudgaurds compunded anyway, so getting them alligned as well wasn't something that bothered me. The whole job was done expertly and neatly by a local shop and they charged only 350Rs.

Yes the front tyre is a little defected as it wobbles, the wobble is not that much so for now I am ignoring it but I might go for a claim if company allows claim on tyres.

As claimed by some of the PW members that new CGs have these problems:
2nd gear khatak sound - is not present!
Khee Khee sound - is not present!

Patakha Sound from exhaust while DECELERATING through engine braking IS present in all new Euro 2 Models. Some have more, some have less.

Update: First detailing after purchase pics on page 11

Update: New detailing stuff pics Pg# 12

    WHAT THE F*CK?

You have clocked JUST 30kms on it and you are already complaining? Bhai thora time diya karo kisi product ko. Your seat's foam will eventually settle down to your weight.

In my opinion, finish the running period. Have some tests runs (like i mentioned before). And if you still don't like it ... then sell it off.

Agar kuch aur lena he hay, to either go for a USED Deluxe or a Brand New Piaggio (yes i said it. kill me)

REALLY? I am sure you have it installed on your bike. Does that seat affect your riding posture? Does it give that "ticklish feeling" when your bums are sweaty? ()

Seat to compfy kar lo ***, but what about the shock absorbers. Minor bump se guzartay huay banda pooray ka poora hill jata hay. :p

Rigid shocks give you straight line stability at higher speeds, and road grip at corners. So there is a reason why its uncomfortable.

Lol never tried , clocked almost 31,000kms on CG in 7 years and am satisfied with my ride.
Today had a little crash. Some scratches on arm and knee and internal shoulder muscle injury.

Uss tarah to phir main bhi satisfied hoon i.e. "Guzara to kar rahi hay na". But i am fully aware of its obvious let downs and dowfalls, or the quality of production.

Btw, you clocked just 31k kms in SEVEN years? I clocked 31 is just 2 years. BEAT THAT. I slowed down in 3rd and 4th year.

Deluxe seat is very good for hips comfort.
Shock absorbers of 2013 Deluxe were stiff like a CG. Backbone killers in bumps. Don't know about new model.

oh yeah, don't let those custom settings fool you.
As once vicky bro told, those shocks are made with "Khan saahib and Wadera" type riders in mind.

You guys are confusing "Stiff" and "Uncomfortable". Deluxe shocks on softer settings have always been Stiff, but NOT uncomfortable. Softer seat also plays a big role in that factor.

Stiffer shock absorbers also account for Rider's road grip and corner ability. And having "Bumpy" shocks (like Junoon's) doesn't mean its always good.

i guess its too early to decide whether it suits you or not because no matter which bike you go for, first 5-600 kms are tough as the seat is had as hell. ride it for 4-500 kms and then decide. deluxe is a good choice but first get it from someone and ride it for 15 to 20 kms before making a decision. remember that cg is good till 60 km/hr. after that it can hot top speeds but not comfortable at all. alot of vibrations on footrest. few hours ago was riding a friends 2012 cg which is usually parked at my home because he have parking issues. the roads on which i cruise on 80-100 km/hr easily on my gs, i took cg till 70 and footrest was vibrating too much that i started riding it on 50 km/hr. i am not being biased but if you want comfort, then gs/rp are the best options keeping in view the problems they have. i have 2 gs at home but never faced any major issues. it all depends on how you keep them.
i would suggest you to ride deluxe and other bikes for few kilometres and then decide
people need to grow up sometimes and act MATURE !
