    You wouldn't be making so many threads if you've bought a good quality product! GS's in all honesty are nothing but crap with very poor build quality...
    Anyhow, 5,000km mileage is "WAY TOO EARLY" for valves adjustments... Secondly, fuel economy has not much to do with valves, at all... Who told you that you need to adjust valves at just 5K K.M??? This problem is is related to carbs, my friend... Get it tuned and ask later if 'symptoms' remains... My DR350's first valves adjustment was scheduled at around 20,000 MILES according to the owner's manual... Thats over 32,000kms!!! So chill out and focus on the obvious solution; SERVICING THE OLD FASHIONED CARB.
    Peace.

ALLAH appko jazaiey khair atta karay aur appko apni khasusi hifzo o aman main rakhay aur app ko wahan say day jahan say appka guman bhee na ho. by the way brother my real problem is not fuel average. i want to get power+economy together in starting days when i was purchased this bike it was giving me 45 to 50/km per liter very easily & also it was goes to 115km/h very easily but no a days it wouldn,t go above from 105 hardly.my dear here is another question for you when valves are start hitting his seat. is the space of his back side has been become close or far from his adjuster ? & when i will adjust the adjuster it will go to right mean inside or become left outside?

    You should know what you are talking about, or you should rather try and keep quite and learn first.
    Just a recent member, novice views on every thread and using caps lock, stressing words as if you are the only automotive guru left on planet!

    5,000Km is way too early for tappets adjustment? Lol...
    Amongst our local bikes, their tappets should be adjusted every 2,000kms at max.

    Wrong valve clearance not only results in lack of power, more fuel consumption but can also bend your valves and damage the engine.

    @poster
    Plz get ur bike tuned and tappets adjusted every 2000-2500kms or u will ruin it. GS150 does have hydraulic valves which need less frequent adjustments, but 5,000kms is too much.
    2000-2500kms is a safe limit.

    7000Km done on my GS. Never felt the need to bother with tappets.
    With more mileage on the odo, engine feels more powerful than before and bike has gotten smooth to the extent that sometime while cruising at 90Km/h, i find myself wondering if the damn thing is still ON.

    @gull_s_777

    This is what Pak suzuki says about its motorbike's maintenance.

    Im surprised that even being an experienced member, you have not got your bike tuned/valves adjusted for 7,000kms.

    Look the chart below, valves need to be inspected and adjusted every 2500kms as per PakSuzuki's recommendation...

    Need experts opinion regarding valves adjustment of GS 150 - ejegyhu7

    @poster
    You should leave this job for suzuki mechanics, if u want to do it urself, u should have complete tools including a feeler gauge.
    And do not adjust with approximation or rely on ur memory... consult a suzuki manual and ask them the correct valve clearance.

    I got them inspected at 4000Km and Suzuki mechanic said they were fine. No need of adjustment.
    And after that i have been doing routine maintenance at home by myself, and bike is running fine too. So never got the chance to get them re-checked.

    Initial 50KM of my GS were harsh, the bike vibrated a lot above 4K RPM. But now i've done 100KM and it's smoothing out.. no more vibration. And, with the sprinter too i noticed that the bike got smoother with age. Don't know if it's just me or if it really happened. How were the first 1000KM of your GS? @OP sorry for hijacking thread
