Default Oil found in my new Raiders Air filter.

Dear all, I purchased a suzuki raider a week ago and after completing 400kms I went for 1st tuning. When the mechanic took out the Air filter it had engine oil deposited on it. Is it normal? Is the breathing system of sprinter/raider deposit oil on the surface of air filter?

yeah its normal, my sprinter had the same (red) oil on the air filter. actually its necessary for air filter to have oil otherwise its not going to trap dust particles. dont worry

Yup oiling a foam air filter is mendatory
Abroad, there are specific oils for foam air filters(mostly in trail bikes) but here these are not available hence gear oil is the way to go

Thanks for the response I thought that perhaps the bike had crankcase breathing problem

1 more thing, I've observed that the front susension of Raider gives a lot of jerks on smooth roads due to simple irregularities of the road surface, is that normal too?

yea unfortunately you'll have to deal with it.. stop the bike and make shock absorbers go in. if they're going with minimal effort then your raider is performing normal. no problems
