Default Using Heavy Duty Engine Oil In Your Motorcycle

Heavy duty engine oils (HDEOs) can be used in motorcycles safely and to great effect for a variety of reasons. They have no friction modifiers, contain high levels of zinc and phosphorus (excellent metal-to-metal contact deterrents) and are generally made and tested for abuse in large machinery like trucks, diggers and so on(with turbo chargers).

So many threads on engine oils, but what i feel is 50% of the bikers wont even get original oil and end up buying some fake oil and then abusing the brand.

Just get a original engine oil of any brand thats it. We have mere 150cc and 125cc bikes so no need to search for super sports engine oils

This is true, buy original oil and change at 1000km interval that's it! Thats why recommending Delo Gold because its available at all Caltex pumps and costs quite reasonable. HDEO isnt super sports engine oil its just a good alternative.

So max drain interval is 1000km?
Is it with every HDEO oil or can some HDEO can be extended furthermore like 1.5k km.?

Yes exactly 1000km is very good drain interval for a healthy engine. I always change oil at 1000km from last 3 years

1000km tops keeping in view the dusty conditions of our roads. Thats why it isnt wise to purchase expensive oil. You can extend of course but 1000km men oil ki effectiveness is at an end :-)

@ammarzahid did discussed this with me on tour... but I find it hard to consume due to the fact that these japanese bikes come with wet Clutch and need firction addatives for the Clutch to work properly ... and those Oil which work properly in these Bikes follow " Japanese Automotive Standards Organization" Motor Cycle Oil standard Additives to Coupe with Wet Sump Clutch.

JASO MA and JASO MB classifications - oilspecifications.org

Choosing the right motorbike oil: What does JASO and JASO MA2 mean? - White Dog's Motorcycle Blog

I am not sure if its safe to use non JASO/MA~MA2 oil in a Japnese bikes or Japanese Replica bikes which use Wet clutches.
Specially a deisal engine OIL :O .... but who know it might be useable but I would stay with the book atleast..

Shell Rotella T is a so-called diesel oil as well, but Shell got it JASO MA ceritified! There's no magical ingredient in motorcycle oils

I mistyped it .. there are no magic ingredient, and it also dont have Friction additives which are bad for wet clutch but are good for Car engines which dont have Wet Clutch and those additives eat the wet Clutch as its there job to eat and reduce the friction ...

So bike works fine, as your bike is running fine as well (new off coarse) but its Clutch will die soon if you keep on using a oil which contains friction additives...

about Rotella 'T' not all rotellas as in same forum then mentioned other Rotella failed the test... if Rotella T has passed JASO test then it can be used in Bike and they will sure print JASO MA certification logo on it... and as by the book we all can use it...

its about understanding your bikes engine... you cant feed a toddler with Seekh kabab he may digest few time but then he will sure get food poisioning soon u know... same goes to bikes.. I am not sure and have not explored Deisal oils if they dont have any additives which may harm wet Clutch bikes then it might be useable...

but offcourse I am not pro in this so I stay by the Book
