    Unhappy Blue-Bison (GS-150)

The story begins as; Once upon a time, a little kid of grade 7 standing at his school gate starring at grade 9 - 12 boys of his school revving their CDs. Amongst the crowd a Honda 250cc surfaces turning every head towards its glittering shine and the sound which make the girls inside school curious about outside the school. The poor kid could do little than nothing but to think of ways to convince his parents to get him a motorbike too, simultaneously making up to answer the probable question his parents would ask, if they agree to purchase him a bike, "Tumhari tangain kesy zameen tak pohnchain gi"... The battle between wishes and realty goes no for years to come, the kid in a hope, like a warrior in battlefield inspiring for victory, day-dreams about the riding a motorbike and how would it feel unleashing 70cc power with twist of throttle. But those wishes, ifs and buts all fades ways as he grew, taking more interest in Sega, Playstation, his first computer an i286 and everything but studies. . Deep within him, remained a particle waiting for a spark.

Years went by, he got into professional life, than married and latter blessed with a kid. Through all those years he drove car for his commuting purposes. But with ever growing traffic of Metropolitan Karachi while driving a car, especially in downtown areas, gives one a feeling of being cursed by an old witch. So one day he decides to get a bike in order to escape the frustration of traffic jams, finding suitable parking, and on top of that scratches and bumps you get on your hard earned car with no fault of yours.

When he had hands on his newly acquired 70cc, that particle deep within him ignites and he flashes back and realizes that is the thing he wanted many many years back. He thanks Almighty Allah for blessing him with it and completing his wish. While at home he had to face same resistance from parents and family members [ Father in the morning seeing a bike parked in his house : Ye Bike kes ki hy? No one could answer, as non knew to whom it belonged. Everyone rushing outside to see it as if an outer-space ship has landed in their house. Latter the fact transpired to his parents and the reaction was: TUM PAGAL TOU NAHI HO GAE, AB BIKE CHALAOGY. PATA HY KITNI KHATARNAK HY. TUMHY IJAZAT KIS NY DI BIKE KHAREEDNY KI. KHUD KAMATY HO ESKA YE MATLAB NAHI KUCH B KHAREED LO. FORAN SY WAPIS KARO. The poor kid, now grown up man, begging his parents to let him keep it. Eventually parents agree and he becomes a biker

With every day, increase in use of bike, he thought of upgrading. Not just an upgrading, but with comfort, power and drive-pleasure. So after going through many threads he chose Suzuki GS-150. Thankful to Almighty Allah, Alhamdulilah he last week got a GS-150.

He present you with his "THE BLUE BISON".

PS: Comments and suggesting are more than welcome.

Owing to my busy work routine, on the very first day i only drove the Blue Bison couple of Kilometers, just to park it at home. Afterwards on next day painstakingly counted hours to pass, so i may ride my blue bison. To me any vehicle be it motorcar or motorcycle, the break-in period is of utmost importance. Before, i can unleash the Bison on road, i have to break-in it. I know to many it would be hard to drive slow but i enjoyed it thoroughly. Took the bison on long stretch roads and drove under 50km/h. until the odo read 96km.

To my utter surprise, i did not felt the well known "Khattak" sound, which everyone complains to be coming while engaging first gear at cold start. However, i do often note that cranking noice like "Khattak" you may say comes from engine bay. It appears to be like gears engaging. I hope it will give away after first tuning and couple of oil changes. Seems understandable to me that bike is new and the gears inside it needs to be grinded well before they may perform optimum, so i am not worried about it.
Moreover, the always complained breaking and poor grip of rear tyre, came to me as shock in the case of latter. As a shock because, to the contrary the grip was good enough and breaking was adequate. I don't know why people complain so much about it, may be it is i am a slow and cautious driver and do not maneuver the bike in haphazardly manner.

I would be sharing my experience with Blue Bison, along as it grows to be a beast and perform in an arena . Of course that is the purpose of making a thread to me. I poured in few littler of petrol and took him for a ride so that i may hit 1000km mark asap. Can not wait any long. While i was cursing in 3rd gear at speed of 30km/h i simply could not resist the temptation of twisting the throttle. So i did so and i was like thrown back and felt like i was going to lose grip on the handle. and wished to take a selfie of smile on my face at that moment. At the same time i was concerned it might harm the engine or so, then other thought yaar ek baar kerny say kya hota hy. Lets hope i may control my urge until the break-in period is over. What i noticed, while revving and that twisting of throttle was, that engine made rattling sound which appears to me of lose tappets. This concludes that, how dangerous it could be for a engine to run at higher revolutions with improper clearance of valves, tappets etc. Lets do not go deep into this mechanical engineering stuff. Over all the bike is performing to my satisfaction. What i had expected from it, it proved the ground so far, in terms of comfort and vibration. One told me its performance in all terms would improve once the first tuning is done, which does makes sense.

    Default Detailing Session of Sunday

Yesterday was Sunday, what else could be on my mind. No you got me wrong

    Detailing time

Kindly excuse, as i am unable to post in Before and After scheme. IA next time i would certainly do.
Firstly Applied Engine de-greaser, as its name suggest. Then did a nice detergent free wash, then applied Meguairs Liquid wax and let it dry to haze, then buffed with microfiber. Afterwards applied Meguairs Polish for ultimate shine. Could not apply sealant due to paucity of time. Even this detailing took 5 back-breaking hours. Collnite wax to chasis bars and Brasso for chrome parts. Meguairs Endurance Tyre Gel for tyres.

Lubricated, Clutch wire, brake wire with WD-40. RPM cable needed some lubrication also but was too tired for that. IA next time.
Have many things on mind. I would be sharing with pictorial soon.
