Default what is logic of rectifier

hello guys this is my first thread.I have Yamaha junoon yd 100 2009 model.Recently I installed 7.2 ah battery but was facing issue of charging....took it to Electricians he said kay rectifier double lagay ga....at the time i didn't know the definition of rectifier which i came to know know as "an electrical device which converts an alternating current into a direct one by allowing a current to flow through it in one direction only". and i went ahead with installing double rectifier...at the time battery felt like it was being charged but now after a few days its not charging....took it back and had the original setup installed back with just one original rectifier. now i spoke to another Electrician he said that original charger will need coil rewinding....now i just wanted to ask pakwheelers if they have ever installed bigger battery and how they dealt with charger problem i need a fool proof solution before I waste money again..

Why did you need a bigger battery?

Rectifier charges the battery and stock rectifier will work fine as long as the battery is of same power as it came stock. When you put in a bigger battery you are asking the rectifier to do more work than its capacity. It is like using a pickup to pull the load of a Shehzor truck, if you get my point. So the solution is using additional rectifier. But again since coils on the bike are stock so you will need coils than can aptly provide better current flow now that you have more traffic going through it. Long story short, better keep it stock.

I hope @imranbhatti comes across this thread and shares his view, an expert on the tpoic.

WOW thanks bahi for the explanation ..by coils you mean ignition coils or something else....bahi program is to install 125 cdi, honda deulex ignition coils if i can find denso ones....i installed bigger battery only because program is to install led everything....led headlight, meter, indicators, backlight, led projector..i know i really dont need it because leds consume low amount of power.but still..and also i installed led headlight on bicycle so using motorcycle for that...as dry battery is quite heavy...but if i cant find solution for charging then eventully will have to fit stock battery

You can get the LEDs installed with the stock battery. Even if you can get the bigger battery and rectifier it would not perform as good as the original setup so better get back to stock, my suggestion.

The alternator puts out an alternating current, and the rectifier simply converts the A/C output in to a D/C voltage that the bike can use or store in the battery. e.g a car came with 45AH battery from factory and owner puts in 70AH, fool people think that larger AH battery will provide more power but donot know that the alternator and rectifier has to work twice hard so it is best to use the battery which came from factory.

original setups is fine i installed 7.2ah battery in my bike Jialing 70 electrician installed desi circuit which gradually weaken battery performance hence battery died in 4 to 5 months so i remove his jugaar circuit and stick it with original setup in desi setup electrician installed rectifiers and big capacity capacitor which boost charging current and hence these lead acid battery donnt bear high current charging so they die earlier than normal setup
