Why this kind of helment is not popluar in Pakistan -1556783

I recently purchased this open ended helmet from mcload road Lahore. It feels awesome. Its a unique thing. Whoever see this helmet, praise its design or asks about it.

I hardly see any person in Pakistan wearing this kind of helmet although this helmet design is very popular in the whole world. (did u remember dhoom 3). In every ad of motor bike every movie involving motor bike. Whole chine, Malaisia, Indonesia, Thailand, India, Where ever i see, I observe this kind of helmet.

Now lets talk about its pros and cons

    Pros.
    1. The biggest advantage is very wide and big visor. The is no obstruction in your vision. Your chin is free.
    2. You feel that you aren't wearing anything because view is so big and wide
    3. It is a blessing for a person with glasses like me. It is very hard to remove and wear glasses every time for wearing helmet
    4. Sound proof design. It totally cuts you off from surrounding noise of rickshaws etc.

    cons.
    1. The only biggest disadvantage is that you cannot hang it any where on the bike and there is no way to secure it by using wire lock.

If you fall head first straight (mun parnay), you need some protection from the front, only glass isn't enough.

Such a fall can easily dislocate your jaw bone.

Congratulations on your purchase. It looks good.

I personally think that this helmet is just for the looks. You know, if you are sitting on a Harley Style heavy bike, or don't want to feel 'restricted' by a helmet ... otherwise, protection wise, this design is greatly flawed.

You can't point to TV Commercials because they want to keep their faces visible.

same opinion here. Up in western countries when they banned helmet less motorcycle riding the harley riders ( not the more sensible kawasaki/honda cruiser riders ) took to these half egg helmets as they wanted to feel free. Now every time one of them falls they lose a nose, a chin, a mouthful a teeth and have to deal with very pleasurable ( sarcasm ) skin replacement surgery, followed by plastic surgery after that. The movies and tv use it because the supposed hero , we need to see his face, otherwise everybody with a brain worth keeping safe uses a full helmet.

A doctor can fix broken jaw but not skull. Main concern is to protect your head and point blank tample area. If you like this shape better go for face lift brand instead chin-less strap helmet.

Im pretty sure thats just what you perceived, due to the lack of airflow. Its not like your nostrils are clamped shut or even touched when wearing the full helmet. If its that big a deal to you for both safety and your breathing get a imported branded helmet, they have rather good air circulation.
But be prepared to pay a arm and a leg, only good companies are shoei , arai, and aerostich .
expect to pay around 300 USD for one. Or you could just buy something you like of aliexpress.

It is still better than no helmet, and the face shield does offer protection from bugs and stones in the eyes, so it does improve safety. A full-face helmet is better, though.

No I didn't precived regarding suffocation, actually I went through nasal surgery and both my nostrils had splints in them to support the bone. So I rode using this helmet. Btw Studds make quite good helmets and I use a full face too when ever I get the chance to ride.
Regarding arm and leg thing riding motorcycle have its cost and had paid it by both of them and on the last accident I was wearing helmet made by Studds which was big life saver and that happened on early 90's .
Nah I don't need to order a helmet using ALI express if I feel I want 1 can get it my self .

Well I suppose i was wrong then.
About ali express, i generally suggest that route to people due to its massive variety, you would have been able to find a helmet that is open from the front but also protects the chin, the ones that wiki classifies as modular filip ups.

I am pretty sure none of the above critics had chance of wearing such kind of helmet or gave it a try

Everyone is talking again and again safety, safety. That's really upsets me. As far as safety is concern, our Pakistani nation have a very bad record. I don't need to quoat an example, everyone knows that. In simple words "Luck is not the safety" Everyone says after disaster happens "Bas jee Jo Allah da Hukam", or Qismat ko yehi manzoor tha.

I had been wearing full face kind of helmet for seven years. But due to glasses problem I had to switch over to this kind. Secondly I feel very comfortable. My view is wide and I can see everywhere even behind by merely moving my eyes.

Dear I got it from McLoad Road Lahore and cost me around 1,150/- I did a little market survey and choose this one. its visor is of excellent quality. You can put it one even at night. Normally visor view gets bad after some time due to scratch. But this visor is scratch proof.

Chill. No one is criticizing your choice.

You already gave a clear reason why you chose this. You don't need to convince anyone of its benefits. We already know. It isn't for everyone. Enjoy your purchase.
