Default suggestion needed regarding leaky and hard shocks

    Hi,
my 09 model thoooom shoks are leaking and are not up to the mark ..
should i repair it ? are they repairable ?
anyone share their experice and recomendation with it?
what generaly needs to be repaired/relaced in it?

which oil is used in them ?
how much a set (4 shocks) of shock absorbers cost ?
any good mechanic in rwp ?

shocks are repairable until their inner tubes are in good shape you would probably need new seals and shocks oil change

yes i recently repaired my chonda's front shock......! the right front shock was leaking so badly i gone to my nearest mechanic. he change the sock seal and clean the shock and re filled the oil and now its good.....!total cost of repair Rs:250 for one shock.
actually repair depend on shock condition if its old leaking then it could be more damaged which mean more scratched....! more scratched shock leak again and again after some time..!
in RWP there are many but go to the one most popular in rapeairing front shock..!
    .
Never repair Rear shocks...! I had very bad experience of rear shock repair...! one my chonda's rear shock was leaking and i gone to mechanic asked me for repair i gone to commetie chock and ask for repair it then he opened the shock and further there was no opening to shock absorber then his real face "hatora mechanic" comes in he cuts its opening with grinder/cutter and then drain out the oil inside it and put new seal and fixed it back with hammering and no oil filled....!!! then i asked why you not filled oil he said oil is not necessary then i said if its not necessary then why was it filled with oil.? he has no answer for it......! then i dis-heart with that and thought that will never open back shock again...! if its leaking oil its ok just clean it no need for opening....!

Front shocks are easily repairable. If they are leak, you can just buy new fork seals at a nominal cost and fill them up with hydraulic oil (or power steering oil) , and they'll be good to go.

Do you also have leaking problems on rear shock absorbers ??

There are several tutorials available at YouTube for refilling oil filled rear shock absorbers. I have never done that but people suggest replacing the rear ones instead.

Instead of wasting money and time just buy original new shocks and live a trouble free life for years.

That means the seals you have used weren't of good quality. Better buy brand new genuine seals, which cost a little extra. (The ghatiya quality one costs barely Rs.50-70).

And yes, Font forks are different than the rear shock absorbers.

You need to fill oil in rear shock absorbers. It's not rocket science. Many videos are available on YouTube.

refiled oil in front shocks.,. from mechanic.. and also replaced some bearing type of thing .forgot its name .. it was where the front handle bars support goes through .. cost was 150 rs +100rs for japani seals

total cost 500 (for labor + oil (20w50 caltex engine oil used ) + replacing ignition switch + some other minor work )

    total cost 750 ..

mechanic placed a 13 number nut at the top of the spring .. he said spring is short ...

it was easy task just requiring 8 nmber L allan key .. and 22 number gooti for openig the rod..

one of the rear shock is a bit leaky..

result : though much improved then previous condition but no where near soft/comfortable as it used to be before getting leaky...

    cost of new shocks :
    front 2100rs for future (was b/w 1800- 200 for others , 3k for atlas one )
rear 1200 for future 1800 for atlas
