    Default SUZUKI GD Trip meter reverse locking mechanism

    Dear Friends;

    Whenever I parked my GD outside, children were played every thing. Many time it happened that children turned the knob of trip meter in reverse direction and the knob removed from the assembly. This problem forced me to design a knob's reverse locking mechanism. This system has been made with plastic strips and installed with Elfy. Now knob can not be turned in reverse direction. Hope this will help to GD owners.

    Damn kids

    this is big problem with bikes in city no one cares people will
    come and sit on bike while the bike is in side stand they will keep on
    twisting throttle and also pulling clutch lever keep on playing with
    headlight and indicators button

    and f.cking careless motorcycle riders will park their bike over your bike
    will scratch your bike also break your bikes indicators many cases they will
    will drop your bike

    by the way its small but important modification good thinking
    but again yar if kids keeps on playing withk knob it may fail again

    Brilliant!

    Is the knob secured with a screw to avoid from being pulled out? I parked my GD in a public place and when I returned the knob was gone It is so easy to pull the knob out because it isn't secured with a screw or any other sort of lock

    I talked to Suzuki showroom but they are selling the whole speedometer assembly instead of its parts. So I have resorted to a friend (currently staying in China and returning in a few weeks) to try to source the knob from there. And if he does succeed in finding one, I'll request him to bring a few of them as I might lose it again.

    PS: the parts catalog shows the knob comes with a screw, but it wasn't there in my GD. See below:

    And I have specifically mentioned to my friend to bring the knob screw as well, if at all found.
    First deserve, then desire.
