Question Need to Buy New 70cc Engine with Self Starter

    Salam,

I need a new 70cc engine with Self Starter for my Sohrab SD 70, although its stock engine is working well, I used it upto 148,000 Km MashAllah & Giving me mileage of 57km/L. But it bother me each time when I kick start it. I want to get rid of this stone aged kick starter engine.

In couple of days I have a plan to visit the McLeod Road motorcycle market for it, few year ago when I visited the market I caught glimpse of 70cc engines on spare part shops but those engines were without self starter also at that time I wasn't in search of engine, I am not sure whether it is available in market or not.

So if I didn't found any in market then from where I can buy it, I really need it!

Please advise in the light of your experience/knowledge.

I will be grateful if you provide me factual information.

    Regards.

Come on guys! Usman Abid is asking for suggestion about 70cc self start engine and the topic is deviating to sohrab's KMs and engine oil.
@ Dear Usman, there are plenty of dubai scrap engines with self start, look for a good one ask for its working guarantee and buy it, it should cost you not more tan 10k.

I saw new Chinese brand engine with self start in faisalabad. I don't remember exactly perhaps shopkeeper was asking for 16k or 18k. I think it's possible to install self starter in your current engine but its far durable to buy used honda 70 engine without starter motor.

I went to McLeod Road Motorcycle market in search of New Self Start Engine but I didn't found any. Then I went to Bilal Gunj "The Junk Yard", they have used 70cc self start engines but selling price is 8K to 12K, they were not in good condition. So I came back.

In my opinion a kick start is more reliable than a self start bike engine. A retro fitted starter on your original engine might work for a short while but will probably fail quite soon. As for installing an old self starting engine, then better to be ready for frequent trips to the mechanic.

Yes, From Road Prince Spare Parts shop at McLeod Road, Lahore, they only deal in Road Prince Parts & sell lot of stuff like engine, transmission & body parts too. Sure they will provide you 110cc engine. Because road prince is making & selling 110cc (Approx. 8HP) motorcycle named Jackpot. You can go to McLeod Road and ask from any shopkeeper that where Road Prince Parts shop is located. They have big sign board & logo of Road Prince top of their shop.

You can get it from bilal gunj in about 6 to 7k or less but I'll prefer to stay with its original engine cuz I also own 1990 cd70 converted to cdi, its better than new one.
