I owned a 2 stroke Yamaha RX115 for years and years - I was my own mechanic, overhauled its engine once and correctly, used correct parts and measured everything as the manufacturer wanted, Its lube system was also top notch and working.
I never had to remove its spark plug to clean it (it would wear out every 2 years) - I rode it very very far too, even offroad sometimes - It never missed a beat and never complained.
Never had it heat sieze or become stupid running.
The plug whiskering out is mostly due to using engine lube oil in the premix and jetting it wrong, using a corect 2 stroke ashless oil in correct quantity is all that is required - we Pakistanis love "oil" infact so much so - some oil are sold with "damm and duain" to be rubbed on joints etc. - we love to spray oil on our vehicles assuming its awesome, its not - use the correct oil in correct quantity only. Using more oil in 2 stroke premix weakens the mixture as less fuel is goign into the engine resulting in lean burn - lean burn is very hot - your engine is aircooled - HEATSIEZE.
The engine barrel on a 2 stroke is its whole working unit, the porting on it will dictate the timing of the transfer, the intake, the powerstroke and also how much heat is controlled. The porting angles and sizes do this - our local machinists just assume that the ports are holes and dont bother with anything more than just a drill. The end user suffers in this case.
