Whenever it comes to customisation of our local bikes, all we think of are those fancy ferrari walay tanki tapay, paindu flashing lights and ofcourse the No Fear stickers on the headlights. There is a lot more that can be done with these bikes. Often people restrict there ideas thinking that if they spoil the originality of the bike and mess up with the chassis their vehicle would loose resale value but then again why mess with the chassis, why not customise parts to fit bolt onto the chassis. I had always been amazed by customised vehicles and my passion for such machines grew all thanks to shows like american chopper, biker build off and overhaulin. I got the motivation to come up with something new when i witnessed amazing creations made by the members of Pakistan Cafe Racers and BOB customs. That day i decided to make something unique with our all mashoor Honda 125 I started my cafe racer #CELES but had to stop the project due to ill health. Now after 3 years since that project started, i started another project of a bobber for my friend #UMBRA. Fingers crossed that both the projects get completed by August. We shall keep this thread updated sharing our experiences, ideas and would recommend your suggestions too. This is a limited community and I would love to gather like minded people and offer my help if required.
i have seen two of such "eik do paanch" cafe racers and they look stunning, BOLsubscribed
Thankyou
As it is traditional for every cafe racer to have a name and number, my cafe has been given the number 93 which represents the year of my birth and the name chosen is CELES. CELES is latin for race horse and i guess this name suits this bike perfectly. The project started has been more of a mix and match when it came to assembly. The original tank of the cb series was too mainstream so i had replaced it with a kawasaki gto125 tank. The cowl was hand crafted by the famous Pappa denter (Azam denter on Mclore Road). The handle bar was is a 7/8's of a pipe bent slightly to create a comfortable riding position. The front fender has been chopped off to give a retro look though i may be changing it cause it not much practical. There isnt much in this bike, like cafes its simple but worth riding. I am saddened by the fact that i had lost all the previous pictures of when the work was being done so i wont be starting this thread from scratch when it comes to CELES. She shall be going for a off the chassis restoration, paint and i shall keep everyone updated on that. Fingers crossed.
nice to see you dusting the project again I hope to see it complete and neat one day..
fingers crossed, agar sehat ijazat day to it shall be complete by September.
well frankly I believe in will power more then any other power, make a wish and use your will power and then no body would be able to stop you. Good Luck!
agreed. Thankyou
UMBRA, Latin for Shadow is a 1981 Japanese CG125 or our lay man language it is a pointer honda A very dear friend of mine, Abdul Moiz owns the bike and this project has brought along amazing memories. From hunting for a cheap base bike to gathering parts. UMBRA is a bobber project that has a tank of suzuki gn250 and foot rests from a chinese chooper. To achieve the extended feet position we had to move the foot pegs, gear lever and brake pedal ahead so rather than getting the whole set up built we opted for a chinese chopper foot peg mounting which has all the brake and gear lever setups already done. The project shall have a single saddle seat, custom made handle bars and a few more custom made modifications that will make it pop out. Still got of loads of parts to source for this project
