Default New "Altron" Range of Fuels from PSO

    Salam Guys

The fuel used all over the world has higher octane number than the one we get in Pakistan.
Fuel with Research Octane Number (RON) 91-92 is pretty much the standard currently.

While the fuel we get here is 87 RON from almost all petrol pumps i guess.
Except "Total" which claims their fuel 90 RON already.

PSO recently introduced new "Altron" range of fuels and plans to make Altron Premium the basic option now which is 92 RON. Currently it is being sold on the same price as old fuel.

So what does this mean for our bikes? Is this the next go to fuel now?
    Anyone tried it yet.

We have bikes ranging from engine compression ratio of 8 to 10.
    Examples
    8 - CD70, Pridor
    9 - CG125, GS150
    10 - YBR125, Piaggio

I was going to fill up from my local pso (bahria phase 8), so when I got there I noticed they were selling altron and people were filling their bikes without batting an eye with that petrol. So I filled my chonda 78cc as well.

I can't say about the performance for sure, but I did feel that my bike is running smoother at higher rpms, but then it might just be a placebo effect. I don't know.

Just got a 2nd refill of 500 rupee with Altron Premium.

Experience is good so far from cold start to high speed riding.

Book recommends using fuel with RON greater than 91 I have been using shell high octane which was priced at @ 83 rupees which they claimed to be imported.

Used shell in many cars and the performance improved of all of them.

Switched to Altron x and the performance was not upto the shell.

Yes you're right about that. Chonda is just a stereotypical term applied to all local 70 bike because of the quality difference as compared to honda.

Hioctane is made by PARCO refinery at Multan, that is why it is cheapest in Multan and more expensive depending upon distance from Multan.
