    Default The first Harley-Davidson bike

In 1903, William S. Harley and Arthur Davidson make available to the public the first production Harley-Davidson® motorcycle. The bike was built to be a racer, with a 3-1/8 inch bore and 3-1/2 inch stroke. The factory in which they worked was a 10 x 15-foot wooden shed with the words "Harley-Davidson Motor Company" crudely scrawled on the door.

"The rough, hard idle swells up and out from under the car, ricochets off other cars, and rams into the ears of the driver, the spectators. You think twice about a 383 Road Runner, but a hemi only once -- and let it pass."

Yes but its funny that even after having so many years of experience harleys are complete GARBAGE.Unreliable, overpriced and usually start leaking oil within yrs of ownership.A friend of mine has a 2003 V rod and he is always wasting money getting it fixed.I honestly feel bad for those who waste $20,000 + on these things.
