Default Looking to buy Kawasaki ZX-6R

    Hello

As a rather recent bike enthusiast, I have recently come across Kawasaki's ZX-6R available for sale at approx Rs 850K. While, the mileage is almost 8,000 Kms, the bike is still unregistered. Other than that, the bike looks in prestine condition.

I would appreciate some guidance on buying the bike, like the things to look for in a bike before buying one etc. As I'm in Lahore, some referrals will be much appreciated.

    Regards

point taken and noted Maverick... judging from your response, I think your prime consideration while buying a sports bike would be 'image' while safety comes second or third or fourth maybe...

Bhai meray, life has taught me one lesson if nothing else & its "better to be safe than sorry"... So i'm gonna opt in for a 250cc first & then lateron move on to 636cc...

Thank you for the feedback though...

foosa bhai, i disagree that a zx250R kawasaki 2008 model would cost 3.25 lacks in pakistan.

    Duty on 250cc= 7$* 250=$1750= 61*1750=rs106750
    Cost of zx250R in usa=3500$= 61*3500=rs213500
Freight= atleast 40-50 thousand if you import from dubai and this cost will rise to 70-90 thousand if you import from faraway countries like usa, uk etc.
    Clearing charges= atleast 30-50 thousand.

Total cost at the minimum would be=106750+213500+40000+30000= minimum rs 390250

    minimum 3.9 lacks.

by the way, may i ask which bike you have, what CC??? which brand?? which year???

So in short the Ninja 250 should not cost more than Rs 381,000 (including duties of $5 per cc + sales tax @ 15% + income tax @ 5% + SED @ 1% + Rs 20K for clearing charges).

Now, if only an importer can be found who will assist me in importing the above bike...

hamie, go to must bikes on defence main boulevard, that guy will import one for you. And can you please tell me why do you want to buy a sports bike??? how exactly do you plan to use it.

and the duty is 7$ per cc not 5 $ per cc. Contact mohsin of must bikes. He will tell you exactly how much will be charged per cc and how much a zx250R willl cost you in pakistan new.

and thanx for the news regarding 2008R1, even though i love R1 but i still think ppl have imported far better bikes than R1 in pakistan.
For example, MV augusta and ducati 996.

    @mavrick

ur right about the 7$ per cc duty thing but the freight is not more than 20k...and the prices at must bikes is double than that of wat the bike orignally costs so im gonna stick with importing!

Maverick sounds right about the duty and other charges, this is one reason we don't see any brand new 250s in Pakistan. All you can find is the old stuff.

foosa bhai plz read my reply again, hamie asked information about some importer who could buy and bring the bike into pakistan for hamie. And i gave him the reference of mohsin as he imports bikes for other ppl on request. i know if you buy straight from bike showrooms like must bikes they rip you off as the prices are really high for bikes standing there which already cleared.

Hey, foosa and did you check MV augusta in lahore. Oh my god i was shocked when i saw that bike in lahore. Just simply amazing.

and regarding the frieght,i have already mentioned freight would be lower if you import from uae or may be japan. But freight would be higher than 20000rs if you import it from uk or usa. Its best to import from dubai ofcourse.

7thgear, did you check the link. You will find pictures of all the bikes in pakistan inluding the ducatis and mvaugusta.

If i had unlimited budget, i would never even think about buying anything like busa ,zx12r or r1. Even though i love these bikes.

But one can afford the italian ducatis or mv augusta , then he should not even consider japanese ones.

    what do you reckon?
