    Default confused foosa!!

    today a sad incident happened to me on which i'd like some HELP ...

    i was going thru a very remote area of multan and suddenly WHAM...my chain broke...i tried calling my frend who came there but said that there isnt a shop here for quite some distance...(7:15pm..fairly dark)...and we couldnt drag the bike with his cd70 due to weight factor..although we tried to but failed...now im stuck on a highway with no lights...with my frend...and my broken down bike...he stayed with me and said that i should call someone from my house...which i did...and my cousin arrived on his cd-70...now we are wondering how to move that damned 150kg machine...and it was decided that we will have to push it all the way home taking turns...an approx 8:30 ( half an hour ago)..with all three of us exhausted reached his house...and from there me and my cousin returned home thanking him dearly...

    now the thing which came to my mind...CARS...can a car be more reliable ???...should i opt for a seconed hand car instead of a 600cc bike...i dont wanna leave bikes ...im gonna have one shot to buy ...so should it be a car or a bike...save me from becoming a DRIVER ..

    That was a crap night you had today. Glad to know you've made home safely after liters of sweat and disgust.

    Accidents do happen, and it doesn't make a car anymore reliable than a bike.

    A classic example just happened today. My father and sister was in my '06 Peugeot tonight, which is still under New Car Warranty.

    According to my sister, the water temp pointed into red and "STOP" warning started flickering.

    She pulled the car to the curb and called the assitance crew.

    The assitance crew showed up and towed the car to the dealer. The possible cause of the problem is the faulty water temp sensor...which happen to be just published as an immediate recall part.

    Believe me, anything that is made from a flock of nuts and bolts are exposed to failure.

    Don't get off your bike! Just try to maintain and charm your bike to your best extent.

    if u live in a remote area..........this thing can happen again.........so i'll say buy a car..........
    but ur other option is 600cc bike..........so remember my friend if u cant drag a 150kg CD70 then how can u drag a 600cc bike with EVEN MORE weight(if it happens again)

    choice is yours.........keeping in mind where do u live......
    Carpeted Roads=600cc Bike
    Khadday=Car

    Glad you got home safe and you weren't mugged like what happened to some other PW-ers!. Things happen. Always carry your cell phone and make sure you have one friend you don't fight with who has a car and can come bail you out!:d

    @fossa

    Salam!

    i have read many of your posts, but never replied you as we are strangers.

    But for this time, your question is somewhat disturbing.

    Incidents do happen maaaaan. I think a car is even more troublesome if it broke down in the way. Either you have to leave the care there or you will have to carry it on something, that both needs time, money, etc. etc., and same is the process for a 600 cc bike you are looking to. i have a GS150 cc with golden boy 350-18 tire on the rear, and once i have to drag it for 3 km. can you guess, for the next one week, my arms could not straighten out. So, you have to decide for a 600 cc bike by figuring out your usage..........if you are on your bike most of the time, then i think it is totally not suitable, i am sure after 2-3 months, you will end up selling that because we can buy machine here, but we cannot get support for it, that's the big problem. So brother, my heartly suggestion to you is that you remain on your current bike and try to maintain it more harder than ever, change the parts after 75% for sure, change them as soon as they give the warning signs, so that you will never end up waiting on the middle of the road for some help..............albeit the decision is yours............wait for the time the heavy bikes here get more common, otherwise you know our country very well....................

    mazey ki baat yeh hey ki ek dafa i got my rear wheel punctured, when i went to the puncture shop, he said that he will charge Rs. 50 for one puncture, i said what! then i said why man, he said that the tire is not the usual one, it takes time to open it......................well that's really ********. that was not a very big tire, and a little extra force was needed to open that tire, but he never agreed to do that so i went to another shop...........so that's the way our people treat them who are in trouble., so be careful and be advised.

    regards,

    Thats bad what happened there with you. Nothing is safe and reliable on the road, sometime we are so much dependent on chance. Stuff happens and we have to face it. Bikes is your passion, while a reliable ride is your need. You have to see which of the two is more important and means more to you. Its not everyday that you'll be in a position and a mood to buy a 600cc. Now is the time to think and act.
