    Default Project Sprinter

My cousin had bought a sprinter 2005, he is a careless rider and used it as bad as he could and when it broke down he left it with a mechanic who couldnt do anything about it, and let it rust outside his shop. When i heard about it a talked to my younger brother about restoring it he was excited and starting working on it. Too bad that being short of time i couldnt take snaps of it at that time or during restoration now the bike is brought to home and being assembled, i took some pics for you guys will take more and upload them Inshallah.

Yesterday both of us were working on cleaning of its rusted parts and cant tell you what was the reaction of family on seeing the condition of garage, we barely missed beating from mom

its a pleasure to see you here after such a long absence, well come back.

And yes as i mentioned earlier its engine had ceased, and there were too many parts in ite engine that were broken and mechanic couldnt name them, i had been too busy to even have a look at it.

Its engine work was done by a mechanic.

i was looking forward to ur comments, coz i knew u will give a fair analysis. I also dislike sprinter to the point of hate but there are following factors involved, i wanted to try a used sprinter and see what it does, the thing that helped me make my decision was that it was owned by my cousin and it price was quoted 8 Ks. My cousin was curious to get rid of it. I havent paid him yet. So risk factor is minimum. it can be sold for 14 15 K once remade.

One thing is confirmed that it kills on spare parts price, way too high for a bike. Lets see what happens when it hits the road.

    How does that sound now

hmmmm...well it depends upon the engine condition..if the engine is good then perhaps ur efforts might pay off ...true the parts are expensive...but i assure you that apart from the rock hard seat...the bike is oustanding compared with its rival...the accelration+topspeed and the mileage is just awesome...good luck with it and do post pics when its done...(Y)

my brother has worked on its seat also, took it to a seat cover maker, though it may be a temporary solution but he sanded hard top of its Foam and then put some layer and then put the cover on it. I m very much biased to this bike, so this is a test based project, its engine was as bad as hell, now lets see if a sprinter has been ruined and someone decides to remake it what happens. I will keep on updating all you guys.

Yesterday when i went home took some snaps of the developments

as you people can see that its wiring is left only, we tried our best to change everything to new, shining parts are either chromed or buffed, and silencer (my brother says that it will be changed). Its colour and stickers are also his choice, since he has worked so hard on it i let him make it as he liked.

    thanks foosa

but honestly if it were me i would have revived it to its stock condition, all these changes are my brother's idea, and he did all the paint and sticker stuff himself. u can see in the latest pics where bike is parked that floor area is black. My brother washed it last night at about 010 AM, bike washing was secondary object, primary object was to clean the oil and black spots from the floor, u know no guy likes to do this stuff unless he is threatened ( u will have to sleep with you bike if you dont clean the floor today) that all my mom said, first he washed the floor and in rage he washed the bike also and then he took bath to be able to sleep on his bed. all the time i was in my room guess what... ASLEEP
    HEHEHEHE

bhatti sb yes its engine was overhauled completely, its ring pisotn changed and many more parts were broken in it, since i wasnt actively involved in it, all i have is a round figure its nearly 10 k now, we had spent about 8 ks by the time its engine was done
