Default The Two Wheelers' Accessories Thread

Guys I am creating this thread to post about accessories for two wheelers. As most bikes lack basic things such as a clock in the console.

To begin with I am posting about this neat accessory I got from Amazon, its a bluetooth phone kit with FM radio to be installed on and inside a helmet. It features voice detection and volume control with speed so you never need to take your hands off the handlebars. Although one should pull off the road for phone calls but you do not need to take off your helmet search for your cell phone and take off gloves to dial or similar things. And FM radio can be used on long rides. This can be used with the company's other products to converse from bike to bike in case of group riding as well.

that is a cool item ..u said tht we dont need to use cell fone during the riding when we are using that...so is that voice activated or something ? and i also read 7 hours of batt timing...is that valid ??? wats the price ?

seconedly i've been thinking about installing HIDs...but i dont think the current holder might hold them...and will melt ...any ideas how much would a good HID set would cost for a bike ?

@foosa, well talking on cell phone can distract, its just for safety.

It is voice activated, when a phone call comes in FM radio suspends, you can say a word to pick up the call or remain silent for 7 seconds to reject it. Works for speeds up to 120 kmph if you are using a full face helmet.

I charged it once and listened to FM for a couple of hours, I will let you know the end result. Price was $100+ and $20 for shipping had to pay Rs.140/- for duty.

For HIDs you know much more than me, but having fiddled with electronics, I advise, running heavier wires from the battery to the lights and use the wire coming from the switch to trigger a relay which uses the heavy wire to power the lamp. I can make a diagram if you need one. As for the holder you can assess your bike's holder by lighting a similar load in a safe place out of the bike.

@7thgear, thanks, oh, I thought you were related to the nuclear facility in Joharabad so cell phones banned or something? For the last two years I am spending my Eids in Joharabad, satellite town.

@pardesi90, thanks, well I agree to you partially, but I do believe in safety during summers as well, though a separate gear for different occasions I have a picassa album just for this, here:

In the other albums you can see my mountain bike and its gear and other public stuff.

I am looking for the following items, preferably in Islamabad otherwise Rawalpindi:

    - Watch (digital with back-light) snap-able to handlebar or stem nut.

    - Reflective material (cloth) to stitch on to gloves and textile jackets

    - Bottle holder or tank bag

    - Monkey bags for rear, occasional use on planned long-rides

No I have no concern whatsoever with the nuclear facility, but I don't feel the need to keep a cell phone actually :-)

@foosa, label says SHAFT, store keeper said its China and I was inclined to buy a Thai helmet but the UNEED ones were too lose and felt clunky this one has a solid feeling and fits well on my head. Air inlets are big too which we need in the summers. One draw back, the D-Ring is too close to the helmet that I can lock it to the holder on my bike and looking for an extension metal piece. But generally do not stop anywhere were I need to leave my helmet. For those trips I use my car

@foosa, every shop I visited had this weird thing "season nahi hai" so all they had were Rs. 300/- tin caps, I am looking for a better helmet and will try my luck in the so-called "season".

Man i love it. Too bad i lost both my helmets in a bad way. I use to own a Original Honda Helmet, It was big and Safe, but not practical enough, it fell down along with me and i lost the visor and i was unable to find one, Secondly i bought a UNEED Helmet, Shop keeper show me 2 exact looking helmets one was 800 and the other was 1200, When i wore them, it showed the difference very much, but i lost it during a college riot and lost the whole visor of it and the mountings as well.
