    Default Fuel Saving Kit, anyone???

A friend told me about some fuel saving kit available for bikes, that it costs around Rs.2400 but improves the fuel average to a great extent. i.e. if your bike is currently giving you around 45km/liter then you'll get something around 60+km/liter after installing the kit. Have I heard right? Anyone has got one installed on his bike??

Cars too have engine. I'd suggest trying to run your car on water. It really works... :-)

I read the info given in the link posted above by imranbhatti and having that read I concluded that doing this experiment for not much improvement in economy is of no use, besides it only seems more of a gimmick.

i once saw this product being advertised on tv...well they say that the DEVICE is attached to your fuel line...and it does something to the petrol molecules...which normally flow at an irregular pattern...some magnetic thing in the device alligns the molecules in an organized pattern...so that helps increasing the average mileage of the bikes from 20-30%...

Fuel saving devices are a gimmick. Don't lose your money on them.

    More reading:
    http://www.fuelsaving.info/debunk.htm

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuel_saving_devices

There is PDF file from US EPA that has tests results for over 100 such devices, most of which don't work or even reduce the fuel efficiency. No device could produce better than 6% fuel efficiency, which is not worth the cost.

I had some info that there are devices that can increase the fuel efficiency of 2-stroke, single cylinder bikes to over 10%. But that's it.
