I would have never done that if I were you.
These classic breaker point models are very rare now.
You should have restored it to its former glory and trust me it would have looked much better.
I restored my 1987 model a couple of years back and this is how it turned out to be.

But thats just me and you are at full liberty to do whatever you want to do to your bike.
I liked the way you made changes to it by installing the longer rear swing arm and doing it in a proper manner.
Mostly people just change the tanks and tapas.
If you plan on keeping it like this then get the right side crank case cover changed aswell.
Change it with a new one.
It can be fitted without any alteration.
The engine block is same.
I also saw 2~3 bikes on Murree road having the fuel tank cap at this place.
