Cool My Honda CG125 Deluxe Euro-ll

    Hi everybody
So here is my new ride Honda Deluxe.
Previously i have used CD70, Junoon and GS150.
Yesterday when i went to purchase it, i had Suzuki experience in mind when i had to choose between 15 bikes standing there and still i couldn't find a perfect piece for me. So i was again ready to examine the bike thoroughly before purchase.
There was only one black Deluxe standing there and i asked the manager if they had more in stock, he said that you check this one, if you find any fault then we will bring another piece out. So i started checking the bike and was pleasantly surprised to find that there was no minor defect i could detect. So just went ahead and got it.
    Initial impression is good.
Good to have fuel gauge back, liking the Disk Brake
It certainly isn't as vibrationless as GS150, but very agile compared to GS. You can zig zag it easily through the traffic.

    Okz
i am feeling rear brake not very effective,
i have to press the lever very hard to lock the rear tyre. mechanic checked and commented that all new CG125/Deluxe are coming like this only. And even if i change brake shoes with new genuine shoes, brake will still be the same.
He said that for effective rear braking, i'll have to use some non-honda shoes, which will provide good braking power but might not be good for drum in the long run.
    Any comments???

Same is the problem with my friend's Deluxe but he never bothered about it as he uses the front brake to stop the bike so don't have much info about that. May be Amjad bro can help you with this.

@gull_s_777! I understand about your braking issue. Its the Geniune Honda Brake shoes the culprit. I spent 1000 rupees on TWO sets (shoes which come in newer Honda Bikes with bigger spring) and it seems as soon as the Brake Shoes wears out a little, the brake goes ****.

Aftermarket Shoes dalnay se problem tabhi ho ga agar ghatiya quality k daalo ***. Tere are many great ones available too. Like those Malaysian, or OOH etc etc (limited knowledge - apologies)

I am again considering changing the brake shoes because the bike may stop just fine with added pressure on font brake. But in Emergency Conditions, BOTH brakes HAVE to be in PERFECT condition to be able to ACT on brake Instantly.

What you can do in the meantime, is tighten the Pedal a little bit (not too tight). However keep it lose enough for brake pedal to cover the mentioned distance in your manual.

Baaqi Deluxe's rear drum is Bigger so iss ki brake 2 times better than the stupid Classic's Brake. Also because of Better Road Grip of Deluxe.

It's not like that. As you know bike's 70% braking power comes from front tyre and Deluxe get 10/10 on that.
Rear tyre provides only 30% but i am very cautiuos guy when it comes to braking and stability of bike so i'll still like to have rear brake also working to its full potential.

    hmmm,
then i guess i will try changing with genuine shoes once. If it still doesn't improve then i 'll go for some non-honda shoes. I don't mind them wearing out sooner as far as they provide good braking power.

i hv used both genuine and third party which came with my delxue ... the problem is while third party brakes gives u good braking then honda one ... they often create problems too .. specially in raining season or after service ... u will hear loud screeching sounds and sudden wheel jamming issue ...which can be dangerous ..

People actually preferring Honda Brake Shoes are certainly implying them to be better than any aftermarket ones available. Which is not true ofcourse ... not entirely.

Agar wo 80-100 Rs walay brake shoes daalo *** to yehi haal ho ga. There are better products available, mostly at a lesser price, and usually at a price premium slightly above the AHL's product's price.

I can't name any specific brand specifically for Deluxe (since i don't own the bike) but i am sure you can do the necessary market research to find that out.

Baaqi if some Brake Shoes are providing you Powerful Braking, then its quite obvious they will wear out sooner than any other. But phir bhi 8-9 months

2 Years ago i bought AAM Brake Shoes for merely Rs.70 and they lasted me 1 years. Best Rs.70 ever spent. (Recommended to me by my Cousin who owns a Spare Parts shop)

The problem? Well ... THOSE were the kind of Brake Shoes i should've avoided to take care of the Drum. I took the risk but still can't forget its Braking Power.

It was AFTER when i bought TWO pairs of Honda's Geniune Brake Shoes. Which are expensive as hell like they are made out of Gold <_<

They work so good initially but after very little usage, they start to act like total ****.

Found some Malaysian IHS brake shoes for deluxe in market. costed 215 rupee.
    original ones were 300 rupees.
Installed IHS brake shoes and their grip is excellent. Don't have to press hard to get response now.
But with excellent shoes, now rear 90/90 servis tyre grip is not feeling adequate. It feels to be slipping too easily and little dangerous at high speeds.
I guess i will be going for bigger tyre once again.
90/90 size seems ok for 125cc, then why grip isn't so good??? bad quality rubber?? or something to do with tread design??
