Default Honda CG 125 Dream - First Impressions

Honda CG 125 Dream My First Impressions -1425767

Hello guys since its launch on 29th may i have went and seen this bike three times
at different AHl showrooms and i am highly inspired by this new CG Dream i have no
riding experience of this bike just sharing my thoughts on basis first impression after watching
this bike inspecting it with some interest & focus

We were hearing of Dream version of CG Classic from quite good time as our respectable fellow Khanthegr8
shared news regarding this bike i personally was expecting an beautiful & attractive looking bike
specially after what we saw in dream version of CD70 they did impressive work on transforming
looks of CD70 into stylish & good looking and comfortable to ride bike but this dream version of
CG classic has come out little bit beyond expectations i mean i was not expecting this much beautiful
and attractive bike with great looks & design almost all parts new except the Engine,Chassis & Muffler
& other minor parts atlas honda has done brilliant work on new CG Dream

From looks this bike seems as if its not pakistani bike from front to rear & side
every angle its very attractive and new brake light introduced has given it very unique
looks this was not expected from AHl we were hoping it will have same AHl's favourite rear
brake light which they have installed in three bikes Deluxe Pridor & CD Dream
and other parts installed in CG Dream such as front headlight & most important new bulb is installed
for better visibility we know Deluxe & Specially Pridor has dull headlights so its very good thing introduced
i saw the bulb closely was very pleased to see quality brand was chosen its Phillips 35watt Halogen Bulb
Other parts such as tank front fender, rear fender & rear seat cowl, side covers & rear seat bar speedometer
all these parts are very impressive new designed & are looking very good on bike

New Rear shocks absorbers are installed i was confused weather they are adjustable or not
i asked dealer who is mechanic himself he said they are adjustable i am still confused
shocks looked pretty unique i mean with different mechanism of adjustment & in exterior looks
When i sat on bike the shocks felt very soft so its great for light weight users but i had
pridor which also had very soft non adjustable shocks it created quite trouble for when i drove
bike with heavy weigh pillion rider but as told by dealer CG Dream shocks are adjustable
and i hope they are as they felt very soft to me i can't comment & tell accurate about their
performance as i personally don't own CG Dream nor have test driven it so as i have told above
i am just sharing my thoughts

The whole front fitting is of Pridor new handle bars are installed & new plate
where handle bars and handle is fitted & installed i don't know what to call that particular part
now this is one more good step i think it can eliminate vibrations of handle which we know CG have
i guess handle is changed too for better sporty driving position

THE BIGGEST DOWNSIDE IN THIS BIKE IS THE OLD OHV ENGINE
IF NEW OHC ENGINE WAS GIVEN THIS BIKE WAS AS GOOD AS
INTERNATIONAL 125cc CATEGORY BIKES EX: AS IN INDIA

^As said above an enthusiast biker like me would have gone crazy to see
this bike equipped with latest OHC engine B
ut as we already knew new engine was
never expected from Atlas Honda and looking at AHl's old history its finally really good
to see changes in their bikes in recent years or else it used to be just STICKER & STICKER
every year since decades i hope they do some more work must introduce new OHC ENGINE
in 125cc category and also must give important feature as ELECTRIC START as AHl bikes lacks
features as passing light, gear indication in meter etc but out of all common features SELF START
is really important i hope Atlas honda considers this and install this feature or atleast
they can launch two variants one with self starter or 2nd without self

BELOW MENTIONING LIST OF CHANGES IN CG DREAM

*New Attractive Headlight With Phillips Halogen Bulb
*New Stylish Sporty Fuel Tank & Side Covers & Rear Seat Cowl (Patti)
*New Speedometer Very Good Dial & Good Design On Meter Body
*New Handle Bars & Handle Fitting Same As In Pridor
    *New Front & Rear Fender
*New Rear Brake Light ( Thank God Finally New Design)
    *New Rear Shocks
*New Comfortable Seat & Very Good Sporty Seat Bar
*Black Painted Engine,Chain Cover & Front Shocks Bottom Portion
& Also Front Shocks Cover Removed Now Its Like As We In Pridor & Deluxe
*Handle lock in the ignition switch

FINAL WORDS for CG Dream its an very good entry in AHl product lineup
an very good bike for those who admire modern style motorcycles i think we
should encourage steps like these instead of useless criticism

IMPORTANT UPDATE: A very important update shared by our fellow Turab Ali Malik 1st PW owner of CG Dream
He had recently shared that CG Dream front headlight is making annoying noises due to vibration now so nice
of him he has uploaded videos which clearly describes the situation you can clearly listen annoying noises from
front headlight as bike reach 4-5k rpm and also even while standing at idle it also make noise when given throttle
now this is really poor from Atlas Honda & Shameful act from them how did they launch this bike with such error
Believe or not i had completely made my mind for purchasing CG Dream had went to showroom almost five times
but only thing that was i fearing was this its front visor may make noise as we know CG OHV engine
is vibrator machine so due to this fear i could not made up mind for this bike though i sold my Pridor for CG Dream
i Drove Pridor for 1 and half year its front headlight never made any noise no matter at what speed you drive

Here are the links of videos share by Turab Ali Malik

NOTE: I don't own CG Dream so i can't comment best on its performance i can
only be in best position to say anything properly on this bike performance
when i buy one or drive one we know it has same OHV 4 Gear CG Engine
But still we are keen to know regarding bike performance i mean regarding
comfort of bike vibration of bike and overall drive of bike

    Yes Brother jadoon1992_vxlimited

InshAllah might get it in couple of days

Below these are some things which are making me little bit hesitant going for it

    *Too Soft Rear Suspenion
*Loud OHV Tappet Sound & Vibrations
*Issues That Were Encountered In CG Euro 2 Engine
*CG Dug Dug Sound Its Robust Good But Might Trouble Me On Highway Journeys
As I Have Become Used To Of Smooth & Pleasant Sound Ride As I Had Pridor

Honda mechanics says all issues are resolved i him asked from long time ago
he said 2012 had encountered issues but since 2013 there are no such issues present
    in CG Euro Engine

KhanBhai's recent comment on CG Dream's having same gear box issues has worried me more

In a nation where literacy rate is hardly anything to boast about, and people don't pay much attention where they are spending their money (even those who hard earn it) ... i am not surprised.

it will take time but hopefully cycology of people would change
and they slowly change & shift their mind

No matter what happens Honda comes or Yamaha comes Atlas Honda
will remain there and piaggio shiaggio ravi group is nothing infront of them

with their strong network spread all over pakistan
and blind trust of people on them they are not going
anywhere its not easy to kick them out of market

i have realized they are always ready for any threat
and they respond to it very nicely & strong so that is
why i feel no matter honda comes or yamaha
Atlas Honda would remain there is biggest player in market
with the most selling bikes in pakistan

Most people dont buy Atlas Honda nowadays apart from couple of people who think atlas honda is still providing them next generation bike whose sticker color changes with gear change. People wont be able to sort out kharak sound while praising the new madal without any test drive. Lol lol. Thats what i call a blind fan

most of the visors create noise specially in case of Deluxe. I was much hopeful that this Dashboard type visor will not vibrate that much but it does. In Deluxe visor is simple and it shakes like a blender. I've driven my Dream upto 1037kms and done many severe harsh tests on bike.thank God its cowl fiting is ok otherwise such a fat cowl creates a huge noise.my dream top speed after 1st tune up and oil change is 112 km/h on single and with double it reaches upto 105 easily now.thank God needle doesn't flick.bike is much more comfy than CG euro classic

in my cg125 classic, the speedo meter needle shakes a little, whereas rpm needle is stable... is this normal with cg or i need to get this inspected?

Turab Ali Malik Brother above comment of KhanBhai is positive sign
now you must get your bikes headlight & visor fitting checked as
KhanBhai told his dream's visor is not making any noise even after harsh tests
so this could be case, you have gotten CG Dream piece whose visor & headlight is not fitted rightly
may be nuts & bolts are not tighten and it is very common thing in pakistani motorcycles

Automotorsport brother no its no normal i mean as normally the needle should be stable
should not shake yes agree this problem many people might have faced but one should only
worry if problem does not get resolved with meter cable adjustment or replacement

i give you example of my friend CG which he had driven around 10k suddenly his meter
needle started shaking during one of trip with me he became worried but his problem
was resolved just with tightening of cable it was loose from meter joint
so mechanic just tight the cable and meter was running fine

@auto you should change the meter cable and then check it out if it still flicks then your meter has been expired, dont try to get it repair since it cant be repaired if it gets out of work once, many mechanics claims that they can recover it by opening it and tightening the needle bla bla bla....but nothing will happen...i'll suggest you to get a new meter wil cost you Rs. 800/-

This was told to my by @RX115 few days back via phone call.

Sad thing is our youngsters are still stucked in 1980's bike, so how really are they going to give insight of sports bike when your comparasion monument is drum brakes, with basic motorcycle design.

@ amjad mechanics to company ki zuban boltay hain yar, unhein kya lagay kisi ki 125K ki Deluxe faulty niklay ya during workmanship damage ho jaye scratch parr jaye un ko zara fark nahi parta, i really hate ******* mechanics, they dont even care of anything, brand new bike ke nut bolts nahi kasnay aatay saaloan ko, tools in ke pass proper nahi hotay, ghassay pittay T rods jo waisay hi slip kar jatay hain or ap ke fuel tank, muffler, mudguards, winkers ko hit kar jatay hain, scratch daal ke aap ko bike pakra daitay hain meri to jan jati hai mechanics say, main to sara kaam khud hi karta hoon bike ka, or main ne tools bhi apne hi purchase kiye huay hain anyway ab real story ki tarf aatay hain

Company sirf apni pocket bhar rahi hai is wakt, company humein quality bikes daine nahi baithi balkay apna kharboan tarboan ka business kar rahi hai, factory mein aaye din test hotay rehtay hain har model ke ooper, ke kis tarah internal parts ko change kar ke local parts laga diye jayen or kaam chalaya jaye, tum believe nahi karo gey last month CG 125 Euro ke oper intna sever test kiya inho ne uska carb. change kiya or local sprockets dali local cdi units dalay or waisay hi market mein bhaij diye, Chassis# starting from 71 to 72 all bikes are faulty, almost 10000 bikes can you imagine such a huge blunder ...... inho ne jo bhi test karna hai wo ek single bike pe karein lekin inho ne wo sab bikes market mein phaink dien, gear box ki awaz aam banday ko pata nahi chalti, wo new 125 ke charm mein har nooise ko standard hi samjhta phirta hai, Senior CG lovers easily judge any un necessary noise coming from any part of the bike.so i will suggest you to be very careful, in mechanics ke peeche lago gey to nuksan tumhara hi ho ga, soch samajh ker faisla karna, ager ziada shoak hai to main factory mein say ek sheesha piece tumhe bhaij daita hoon, jis dealer ke pass mangwani ho bike uska address mujhe bata daina, or apni marzi ka engine number or chassis number bhi bata daina wo bhi mil jayega, meri dream ka chassis number DB000001 hai yaani sab say pehli Dream bike jo ahl ne banai wo main ne li hai speciall tayar karwa ke factory say...if you want Chassis like DB001111 or DB001000 or any figure you like it will be there for you

A day before mene bhi kuch aese he information de thi, exact na kahein lakin kuch is news jaise he thi. Khan bhai is a dealer and see he can provide you the bikes directly from the factory. Khan bhai talked about the local parts installation, mene bhi kuch aesa he kaha tha like k faulty parts nkal ayein tou bike phir bhi bikti hai.

Meri baat ka yaqeen nahi aya kisi ko. Khan bhai is a senior and much respected member here, in ki baat per tou yaqeen kiya ja sakta hai.

    Any thoughts guys
