Default Honda Road Master CD-200/ 175

Hello everyone. I got a query popping up my mind for quite sometime now. Some years ago the road masters were worthless, or at least to my information, and crap. But, now suddenly when I search for one here and on other forums, I couldn't find a decent one even around 50K. Sellers are even demanding 200K+ for their bike. I was just wondering WTH just happened :O. I wouldn't have mind but the thing is 200 ka keRRa kaatne lag gaya hay buhat ziada . I am getting done with China 70s now . Can anyone please shed some light on that and also if you guys have any munasib bike in sight, lemme know. Thanks

There is a general boom in the market lately with people looking for bikes at least above the local 150cc. In 2010 when I sold my FZR250 for 170k lot of people considered it huge price, today you'll be lucky to find that much clean bike in anything under 210k. A major factor in increase of old bike prices is the high price of locally manufactured bike, say for example if you can find a 200cc used Japnese bike (any condition) in 150k, why should you go for buying a Deluxe or a GS150 for its existing price?
Not very long ago I managed to find for a friend an old 750cc which cost him just about the price of a brand new Deluxe :p Today we see bikes like that on demand of something Rs.250k Wish you a happy new year..

BTW, I would prefer a Roadmaster over any local bike, any time.. Because once these bikes are properly restored and kept with care they become life time companion

I wish I can say 200 is user friendly ride to keep in today's fast world but unfortunately I cannot. Its one of most painful bike to maintain. This price hike in market is because of young lads sees it as a 2 cylinders so called heavy bike and mechanic and dealers sell this bike for very high price which it does not deserve.
My sincere advise especially to students is to stay away from this moron machine and save your precious time for studies and other activities .
BTW I still own 1 and in good running condition converted to 12V cdi system.
This is my personal view as a owner of cd185 twin which I own for last 17 years or so.
Help others so that u can be Helped

Thanks Guys for the overwhelming response on second attempt .
@archon2001, I am neither a student nor a young lad now . Have got two China 70s . My elder bro is pushing me to have a decent bike. I always have admired the Road master. I think now I can afford one , hopefully .
@zooropa, thanks mate. I'll look into it. But, the thing is my bro's friend deals with army auctions. He do have some beauties but, he is asking insane prices :|

    I don't have any specific req. of a 200. 175 will do . Thanks

I was also getting a Yamaha DT175 but did not buy it because it would take a lot of time to restore it and it would be difficult for me to search for its parts. These types of bike requires time and money but in the end the hard work surely pays off. Best of luck

Thanks guys for the advices . I am not sure myself, may be I'll go for GS 150... what you guys think about it? The bike seems nice to me, but, don't get much attracted towards it. CG125 is quite infamous either way so I am avoiding it.

You'll only like it once you actually ride it

I did ride the bike. A close friend of mine have it and he's advocating it too much to me . The highlight of the ride is the comfort, though, IMO the hand's position while riding is bit awkward or may be we are too much used to of Honda's.
