Ya its sad u know i couldent find any 70cc bike in india i guess the reason is simple a 100cc bike can achieve mileage of a 70cc bike then why we need a 70cc...

This bike which is 125 gives above 60kmpl..

    Hi I am from India..

Even Indians were very frustrated with the bike manufacturers before 1999. all Indians were provided with were bikes not more than 100 c.c.. of course Royal Enfield bikes were there with 350 c.c and 500 c.c engines, but these were touring bikes. Indians wanted some normal street bikes with higher capacity than 100 c.c

then in 1999 hero honda introduced the CBZ it was India's first 150 C.C bike.. Indians went crazy over the CBZ.. then in 2001 Bajaj Auto introduced India's first home made 150 C.C bike the PULSAR.. The Pulsar today is the highest selling bike in the 150 c.c category.. Hero Honda has stopped production of the CBZ due to low sales due to competition from the Pulsar.. The CBZ suffered from low fuel efficiency compared to the Pulsar..
Another successful 150 Indian bike is the TVS MOTORS APACHE, the Apache started like as the FIERO but saw recent upgradations and is presently manufactured in the form of Apache.

after that companies started introducing 125 c.c bikes.. models of 125 c.c available are from Suzuki, Yahama, Honda, Hero Honda, Bajaj Auto, TVS Motors and LML Motors..

Right now 100 c.c bikes are also sold along with the 150 and 125 c.c's. the following manufacturers make 100 c.c bikes- Yahama, Hero Honda, Bajaj Auto, TVS Motors and LML Motors, Kinetic Engg.

Inpakistan EFI in bikes seems to be the story of good 10 to 15 years.

Here in Islamabad I have seen a person riding a Honda CD 70 with LPG installed.

Now this is touching the limits...when I asked the guy as to what average you get out of it....gues what ....he replied that this bike used to give me Re1 per KM and now it gives me Re0.25 Per KM.

No offence to anyone here but my questions is

W H Y are we still stuck in this.

Its probably due to what people want. Indians were also stuck with the "Fuel Efficiency" factor for a long time. All they wanted was maximum mileage for every litre.

But slowly people in India started to buy higher capacity bikes which were beng offered. Seeing the demand for big bikes, more manufacturers started to manufacture them.

Bajaj also makes two 180 c.c models. One 180 c.c is the Pulsar 180 c.c model and the other is a 180 c.c cruiser model called the Avenger

Bajaj will soon launch a 220 c.c bike with Oil cooled engine and "Electronic Fuel Injection". the bike will cost more and give less fuel efficiency.. but this is what the market demands now.. and Bajaj will satisfy the market

no need for inferiority complex. it is because of the huge demand for bikes in India. the population of India gives the advantage to these bike makers to make such bikes.

also the rising income of Indians and the growing economy has also helped inspite of rising fuel prices
