    Default Honda XL350 owners

Any owners/riders of late 70's Honda XL350 trail bike?

Want to compare notes as I am restoring one currently.

    Thanks

    Really is it that uncomfortable?
Maybe your bike did not have the compression release

Do you still have it ? Know of any person having spare parts etc?

XL350, I have had one for some time. Nice and powerful bike, fun to ride. And the best part was its sound...very graceful

Reason for selling it was scarcity of parts and not able to control the leakage of eng. oil (though only few drops everyday).

After that I bought a XL250R, another great bike.

Why did the oil leak...from the tappet cover?
Did you have problems with the cam wearing off?

XL250 is really a great bike but most of the owners suffer alot due to unavilalbilty of parts. Common flaws are same as mentioned above.

I had one in-fact the only example where all my experience / skills failed. The cam chaft is a disaster, adopted piston from Honda Accord and thrice the gudgeon pin scratched the cylinder - handling was another issue. Indeed XL250 is a lot better bike particularly the mono shocker R
