Default Water in gear oil (santro)

    Dear Experts
Yesterday i came across a very strage comment made by hundai mechanics at their workshop while they were working on a santro car. According to them, most santro cars have a congenital problem in which water (from somwhere) intrudes into its gear box making gear oil milky. If car is run afterwards for extended periods of time, gear box may completely fail.
Can someone shed a light on this issue. I am worried coz i myself own a santro...

moisture in the transmission fluid is death. seems to me that there is a leak in a seal somewhere which is allowing air/moisture to enter the casing and then the gears are churinging up the mixture which is causing hte fluid to go milky.

this leak should be tested with UV dye and a UV light.

it's not the pcv ... works like the pcv but is location on the gear box ... to allow gases/moisture to escape.

It is called a Transaxle Breather Tube assembly but I have no idea what the "local" name might be.

local name for PCV: "one way valve" on the tappet cover... most will understand what you mean... although very few know the actual funtion of the valve.
