Exclamation CNG Consumption - Hyundai Santro Club GV 2005 (Company Fitted CNG, 3 Cylinders)

    Dear All,

Can anyone please share the answers to the following questions regarding Hyundai Santro Club GV 2005 (Company fitted CNG, 3 CYLINDERS)?

    1. What is the total size (capacity) of three cylinders (company fitted) installed in Hyundai Club GV 2005?

    2. What should be the approximate mileage in city (Pindi/Islamabad) from these cylinders. Is an average of 110KMs inside city with heavy traffic and signals, and an average of 140 KMs outsode city (highways) is satisfactory or not?

    3. Is it recommended to get the cylinders cleaned up after some time. This is because, people say, after some time, some oil drops can accumulate in the cylinder which affect the performance of CNG

    4. When the cylinders are empty, the refill of total gas in KGs is approximately 7.28KGs (485 PKRs @ 66.6 PKR per KG). Is this Ok?

    5. Any recommended place to get the CNG setting perfect for this CAR so that we can get maximum consumption.

I shall be waiting for the answers and your help. Thank you!

    Regards,
    Hero3

    1. According to my knowledge each cylinder is 15KG which makes a total of 45KG.
    2. 110KMs in city and 140KMs on long are pretty good averages.
    3. Yes cylinders more than 5 years old should be checked and cleaned up from HDCP servicing centres.
    4. Refill of 7.84 KGs is perfectly fine.
    5. Its better if you visit Hyundai's official workshops. This car is EFI and should not be taken to any "Kaam Chalao" mechanic.

    Hope this helps!

I had one Santro GV, bought it zero meter in 2006 and used it for more than 100,000km before selling. As per my experience:
    1. Each cylender size is 14 so total capacity is 42.
    2. I don't have good idea of consumption on local running (as my running was totally between Wah and Isb)but 140 KMs on highway is very ok. I used to have same milage.

    3. Yes it is recommended.

    4. Refill of total gas in KGs is approximately 7.28KGs (485 PKRs @ 66.6 PKR per KG). is also OK

    5. Go to hyundai autorized shop or check Enercon (they are also good in tuning EFI cars).

I am getting 170 KM without AC (route is from Katchehri Chock to F-11 and back)
i was getting 150 to 160 with AC on same route
    getting 170+ on Highway
filling from CNG station at Motorway chock opposite to National Highway office while going pindi from Islamabd

if the pressure is good then this should be the maximum

    i have a 2005 club -gv-cng (factory fitted 3 cylinders)....it has got 13.8 kg/per cylinder...multiply it by 3 u get 41.4 kg of total cylinder size.
mine average ranges between 150 km and 160 km (mixed usage in city and suburbs such as DHA and Bahria)..without AC...
with full-pressure and cold CNG (Fajar Time).. u may have to pay around 500/-.
    and
dont go for a detailed cylinder cleaning etc unless u r getting any specific problem.....instead go to Hyundai Sowan Motors (near Sowan Adda..GT road rawalpindi) and ask them for tuning ...they will charge u about 400-500 but u will find a great deal of difference in car's pick and perhaps economy too (i got both)
    regarding CNG station...go to Shell

I've had a Santro GV from 2005-2010 too.

Not sure about the cylinders' size but it was the same factory fitted 3-cylinder setup. Average mileage within the city was 140 on normal days and 110 on days immediately after gas load shedding (blame residual air for that). If you're getting above 100 in the city, there isn't much need for immediate attention.

Filling capacity is a little over 7Kg so that's perfect too. No need to get the cylinders cleaned up, the residual oil barely takes up any volume and shouldn't be an issue unless it clogs up your cylinders' nozzles. It's best to get your car tuned up from an authorized dealer if you must.

mine is not GV, but 50 liter cylinder, currently getting 150-160 in city without AC and 200+ on motorway in 100KM/h speed, if speed increases the mileage decreases. 8 KG per filling, go to Rehman CNG near Chorr chowk for tuning, or Enercon. tell him to tune for mileage not for pick. go to HIDP for cylinder checkup.

    Hi everyone,
My Santro(2006) with factory fitted CNG can be filled up to a max of 6 kgs at 220-230 bar pressure (around 390 rupees at a rate of 66 Rs/kg).
While the rest of the members here have written that they are getting 7.8-8 kgs/filling. What could be the reason behind this?
My car gives an average of 110-115 km/cylinder inside city with AC on (mostly on Canal road)

Get your cylinder cleaned for residual oil, check post#12.
Or drive on CNG until it finished, and you can feel the car doing jerks, drive on petrol to a CNG pump with good pressure, above 220- and try to fill it up
    Good luck
Turbo lag is like foreplay. You know it's coming. And it's gonna be good.

Hi, your mileage on CNG is very low. I get a minimum of 85 with AC when driving at times when traffic is at its peak. Try to drive the car with an extremely light foot, change gears at low speeds i.e shift to 2nd at 15kph, 3rd at 30, 4th at 45-50, and 5th above 60kph. Also get ur car tuned, spark plugs changed, etc.
By the way, whats ur mileage on Petrol? My mileage on petrol is not so good. Around 9-10 km/litre without AC inside City and around 13-14 on motorway.

    Get your car tuned Properly.
Check the Spark Plugs, Coils and Plug Wires
Check for the air blockage Filter
Check for the Cylinder i.e. Cylinder is clean or not.
I had Santro GV 2006 Model for past 7 years, it gave me approx. mileage of 80-100 km in one refill in city as its pick was above than normal.
