I have a Hyundai Santro Exec 2004 model. Its only 40k KM driven. Its ECU is dead Don't know what happened to it. One fine morning the car won't start as the battery was discharged. Noticed that there was no check engine light altogether which normally shows for a couple of seconds after the ignition is turned to on position. The electrician checked all the stuff, fuses, wiring and everything pronounced that CPU has some problems. The electrician, after checking with some repair guy, is saying that the ECU has 3 malfunctioning ICs ( No burn signs were visible on ECU card ) and its going to cost me around 20k to get it repaired.
Does anybody has any idea what a new ECU for Santro would cost and where to get it and is the amount being asked for repair justified. Looking forward to any helpful suggestions.
