    well get your inner gear axle checked,get it repaired and you'l be good to go.
    the other thing is get the gear itself checked from any mechanic and ask him wether all is intact inside or not but there is less chance of that unless you arent able to engage any shift or it makes squeaking noise while you shift.

    yes 20w 50 is adequate as per our atmosphere and for the life your engine has lived,you are going right. here is a simple check. take your car on a road where there is least traffic and try to figure out from where the sound is coming if it is from gear it will be coming from passenger side (under the hood) feel the gear stick too when the sound comes and note if the gear stick vibrates along the sound too,2nd check is at wheels,feel the floor if it vibrates,feel the steering wheel.if the sound is like a whistle it could be your brake pads etc if the sound is like karak karak karak it could be axles too,the best way is take it too your mechanic and ask him to see it deeply if you can't figure out yourself.

    thanks Immad i will check it out... one more thing .. as i mentioned above my gear transitions are hard but they get smoother after few kms of drive .. is this happen with you guys as well?

    Default santro GV 2005

    Hi, i hav bought santro GV 2005.it is 81k km driven.Engine and body is in perfect condition.The problem is that when i start the engine, a slight noise (may b slight high RPM) comes as i hav pressed the race padle slightly.i want to know is it normal thing ?After few seconds its goes to the normal rpm.What should i do now? Secondly, after how many km i should change the timing belt/bearings?

    i) Do proper throttle body cleaning. If problem still prevails and you see the RPM fluctuation then i guess Throttle Position Sensor is about to expire.

    ii) Timing belt and bearing should be changed every 80 thousand km...!!!

    @horseRIDR and @immad100
    3 months ago i had a mini/moderate overhaul of my santro, only rings were changed, head was faced, and throttle position sensor was changed. A few other things were also changed. Before overhaul my car's engine had a problem of oil consumption. After overhaul, that oil reduction problem has been resolved. Cost was around 20 thousand ruppees. I am quite happy with the results AHL.

    Immad100 and other experts.

    Can you please let me know the clearance between piston and cylinder, valves, rings etc, so that I will tell Khiradiya about the specs of santro engine during overhaul.

    and from last one week my engine noise is more than a diesel engine, it is comparable to a tractor, yesterday when i entered home, my wife was laughing at my santro, she stated my santro a tractor.
    some 2 years back when noise coming from the engine bay it was AC belt bearing, and was changed, the sound then gone.

    ok that was my speedo meter cable that was producing noise accordinging mehanic .. i worried something wrong with wheels.. so i need to get checked it from electrician and have some oil on speedo meter cable

    I have installed NGK Gpower BKR6EGP Platinum but Iridium is surely best , worth Rs. 1700~/-. the difference felt.

    hi.i have asked abt the irradium plugs for santro.he told me that if u drive ur car on cng then the stock plugs are good.if u drive ur car on petrol only then irradium plugs r good.is it correct?

    hey all... just bought santro exec 07 and i am quite pleased with its drive.... but i still feel like i shld get it checked by a mechanic and an electrician.... so could anyone please tell me abt some gud mechanic and electrician for a santro in Lahore? thnx

    R u facing any problems? Otherwise try not let anyone mess with its wiring. For mechanical jobs any good mechanic is just about fine ....

    Today I rebuilt my Santro's Gear Box from Bahadur Ali Gear Works (Mitho Khan Aahata Saddar- Rawalpindi)
    He Replace the second gear Bungel & Ring his own.
    Rubber Seals and Bearings by my self.
    His labor cost is 5,100/-
    Rubber seals & Bearing cost is 1,450/-
    Clutch Plate and Its Bearing Genuine Korean HPM Costing (1,600+650)
    Zic Gear Oil 3ltr (480*3) costing 1,440/-
    Mechanics Labor Rs. 2,000/-
    Other expense Rs. 260/-
    Total Cost for it is Rs. 12,500/-

    In these day to repairing cost of Santro is too much higher at End.


    Result Clutch & Clutch Pedal os so smoother and softer one, not feel that It is Clutch Pedal.
    Secondly, Gear goes a bit harder one, But as per Punno Ustad they will goes softer too within few days.
    Thirdly, Santro goes smoother too on road, especially on unpaved Road and Jumps, never come out second gear .
    I hopefully for more best result after such a costing

    actually i hear some noise everytime i start my car like grrrrrr for first 2 or 3 seconds then it fades out and car runs smooth... also my dad spotted some white smoke coming from the area where silencer comes out from the engine bay like silencer is faulty.. i want to get it checked...

    My advice is to get it diagnosed from hyundai sajjad motors once. The silencer issue in the bonnet seems like a washer replacement to me that fits between exhaust manifold and pipe.

    hmmm alright.. and any other workshop u would recommend ? i havn't heard much gud abt hyundai sajjad motors so im reluctant to go there..
