first of all find out the reason of why is the "check engine light" coming on.
For that take your car as soon as possible to Hyundai workshop or any well-equipped workshop where they have OBD scanner. There get your car scanned and in light of the findings take appropriate action to rectify the problem.[/QUOTE]

Go to the same 3S workshop and replace the Throttle Position sensor as they said.
and tell them to erase the error code afterwards.
will cost you around 3 or 4 thousand ruppees.

guys im looking at buying a santro for my short trip to Pakistan (4 - 6 months) but i want to be able to do these things with it :

    1. Does it sell quickly like a mehran or coure ?

    2. Not have issues with parts ...so are parts and mechanic really a serious issue with the santro ?

    3. Im looking at a 2003- 2005 in lahore or Islamabad ...what would be a good buying price ?

    1) Santro does not have as good a resale as Mehran has.
    2) Santro mechanic and parts availability is not an issue. Particularly if you are in big cities, parts are quite easily available.
    3) Price ranges between 4~5 lakhs.
    .........
Thoroughly check the mechanical fitness of the car before purchasing. Good Luck.

One more thing brother ...i have a family and i will be shuttling between Lahore and Islamabad on the motorway. Is it good for motorway driving ?? ...I drove a Santro 2004 last time i was in Pakistan and i loved the ride plus felt its spacious compared to mehran.

Mehran is cheap but im concerned about the highway ride, safety and that the fact that it might breakdown ?? ...thats where i find the santro a lot more reliable ?? ...You think so too ?

Plus, will i be able to sell the Santro in a weeks time before i leave ? ...Does it sell quick ?

if mechanically fit, Santro is a better ride than mehran for both local drive and highways.
On resale you cant tell for sure on how quick or slow a car sells...At times a Mehran or a corolla might take a month or more to sell..and a Santro or other low resale cars might sell in a single day. Selling a car depends on many factors.....one important factor is LUCK.

    Default Santro Petrol Consumption

    Hi Guys

As you all of you know CNG is almost gone, so shifted back to Petrol. I identified my petrol consumption is 10-11KM/Liter approx in city. On AC it is worst from 7-8Km / Liter. I also observed very high Engine RPM on AC is it normal? I heard it should be around 14-15 without AC and 11Km on AC in city.
I want to understand is their any setting i need to tune from mechanic for Petrol? As some mechanic told me their is no settings in EFI car for CNG and Petrol it automatically adjusts itself. What else i can do to improve my petrol economy.

If it requires some tuning from where i can get them tune in Lahore.

Any suggestions and help will be highly appreciated.

1.check the condition of your air filter
    2.get your injectors serviced
    3.throttle body service

Well you may be correct. However, every case of oil consumption DOES NOT require overhaul. It depends on case to case.
Head Gaskets are damaged mainly due to OVERHEAT which is a completely different issue. Overheat normally occurs due to problems in radiator, thermostat valve malfunction, water pump issues etc.

actually it does not causes head gasket damage but it leads to the circumstances that leads to it.. in mine case decreased oil consumption>>> worn out rings>>> decreased pressure in one cylinder caused damage to the engine valves>>> head gasket bent >>> no proper current supplied by 2 spark plugs 2 the coil and bla bla bla...
its like blood cancer which star affecting one by one all systems of body!!!!

Default Santro Back fire (Patakha) problem solution

Bro Morani your points about back fire r very much correct.
i just want to add some points
    1. Plug Wire problem.
It will rise with both cool and hot engine. Your car will backfire all the times, either ur car is hot or cool. so replacement is the only choice.
    2. Ignition Coils
Once ur car engine will be at high temperature and start backfire that means ur ignition coils r weak. there is also an indication of week coils that it will not backfire on cold engine. So replace the coils. there is one more suggestion that once u r changing coils then must change the plug wires as well. i mean change the complete set.
    3. Very Very Important point about Back fire
brothers there is very important point to avoid the backfire that there is a particular setting of Tapeds in the engine and most of the mechanics do not know. But 100 % work. If the adjustment of ur tapeds is not up to the standar then it will also cause backfire. Standard setting is
The standard setting of Exhaust tapeds should b at the gauge of 10
The standard setting of Intake tapeds should b at the gauge of 8
So must choose 3rd point at first.
