the Alto fan club and Santro fan club threads was started only with 2 days difference mean almost on same day. The number of Alto is more than the number of santros in Pakistan, but 90% of Alto buyers don't know about Internet and they are uneducated because they are buying a classic shape hatchback car with Corroborator engines even in 2010. thats why there are only 126 posts in Alto fan club as compare to 921 posts in santro fan club, which is the indication of its A-ONE choice.

NO OFFENSE, JUST COMPARING THE PEOPLES CLASS AND THEIR CHOICES.

i think when you are going for a car washing/service, stop the guy from spraying used engine oil or diesel undercarriage.

there is no special fault or issue in santro which should be checked, santro should be checked like any other normal car.

    Hi Fellows,

Trust you are all doing fine, I saw your comments and thought you might be able to advise me too.

I have a 2006, FF CNG and am facing few issues.

    1. pick on CNG is not great, and drive feels a bit heavy too.
    2. the sound of engine is not very smooth, and its sounding louder than it used to do earlier.
    3. I also want to have my suspension & brakes checked for preventive maintenance.
    4. What preventive measure should I take to ensure the car remains in great shapre & running condition.

The fuel economy on CNG and general mechanical condition of car/engine are fine. Mileage is 58K.

I would appreciate if you could recommend a workshop and some possible solutions to these issues too.

    BR, Shahzad

P.S: I am based in Islamabad and I am not a big fan of Hyundai I-10 workshop or their expertise.

Bro,...i had almost the same problem,..with a difference that the situation worsened in the end,... the heavy sound changed into "complete timing out".

Is ur problem both on CNG and Petrol or on just CNG ?....

Mine was with both CNG and Petrol, Car was under powered, didnt go beyond 80 Km/hr, and mileage was just ok, not superb!... but Alhamdulillah after rectification its rocking! (even the mileage has improved)

My mechanic did a step wise diagnosis....These are my recommendations:-

    1) Get the tappets checked (only get them adjusted, dont change them cuz thts wot mechanic may recommend :p )
    2) He checked the car for timing error (he opened the side cover beside the engine to check it "thats where the timing belt and different gears are accessed, sorry cant tell u with exact terms, but he checked whether THAT gear which is responsible for ply but in my case it was ok" )
    3) Last but not the least, my problem was that my GASKIT was damaged (n i suspect thats the same case with ur car) ...method for checking this without opening head is , check whether the current is coming in each plug, and den check the change of sound removing plug one by one) This will tell u whether all the cylinders are working or not..
My fault was detected cuz number 2 and number 3 cylinders were not working "no compression",...mechanic said that ur valves need to be changed , but when he opened the head, the culprit was the GASKIT. Remember that its not necessary that Santro heats up when GASKIT is damaged. And even my car's GASIT was damaged it didnt boiled the radiator water, or it didnt heat up the car.

My GASKIT was changed (it costs Rs 350/ Genuine) and my car Mashallah is flying .... .... Hope it helps ...

I suspect that if its not sensor problem than ur GASKIT is the problem.

AND feel free to pvt msg for any details

Default Santro Bouncing a lot from rear

    Hi Guys,

My santro bounces a lot from rear when it goes through a speed breaker or a rounded bump. Basically, it keeps on bouncing from rear for 2-3 seconds after crossing a speed breaker.

The bouncing is very smooth with no noise, but the issue is that its too much which makes me go dizzy :-).

Can you comment as if it is normal with Santro OR anything in rear suspension that needs check up or perhaps needs changing ?

Please note the car is in outclass condition, very much pampered and looked after with 100% perfect front suspension.

    Hoping for your expert opinions.

    Br,
    Ammar

go for some stiff rear springs your problem will be solved. I had the same problem and replaced my rear springs, my car used to touch a lot from beneath too.

    hey Every bdy.
weLL I want to share sumthing wid U ppl, n need suggestions in this regard:
    I hav santro Exec 05.
2 years back my sis hit the bonnet in the outer unit of split AC. we just removed the dent & a lil spray paint on half of the bonnet was applied at that time. it did the job at that time n we were satisfied. but the point is rest of the car is in genuine paint no spray what so ever on body, now the bonnet paint is cracking & it looks weird. so I went this saturday to "AUTO CLUB" located in Sector I-10/3 Islamabad for an estimate of bonnet repaint.

the guy over there wrote 2 different jobs on estimate bills which are described as under with the respective price:Hyundai Santro Fan Club - CDocuments and SettingsgrabbaniDesktopRabbani

dun knw why the scaned copy of estimate bill is not attaching here...anyhow I'll write the exact wording and price tag of both the jobs which Manager Body Shop Mr. Sajjad Ahmed wrote on that Estimate bill.

    1. Denting, Removing of Old paint & repainting (BAKE) of Hood/Bonnet. Estimated Cost = 5000

    2. Pulling, Denting of Bridge Pannel, both Head Lamp Supports, Bumper Reinforcement & Allignment of Front Show. Estimated Cost = 3000

guys the Manager Body shop assured me that all of the paint will be removed from bonnet first and then they will bake the new paint on bonnet. The gaps of bonnet from both front fenders and bumper will be filled properly and the front show will be like exact FF gap setting. all these things are assured to me by the Manger Body Shop.

so I need comments and suggestions on the price tag of whole work...
Last but not the least I have to give them my car for minimum of 4 days to do whole work done.

    Regards,
    Rabbani

    @bani

not sure about the price estimates but the 2nd point is valid. Your previous denter/ Painter might have overlooked the faults which are caused by front impact to the front show (you have already seen the quality of work being done by him).
Estimates are a bit on the higher side. Try getting another estimate before giving your car, or, if you have any previous experience with them, then try to bargain a deal.
