It is so confusing for me b/c within the city my Santro only give 130-140 km and today for my journey from Islamabad to Lahore, i filled the cylinder from islamabad and CNG ended when i reached the lahore bypass i.e shifted from GT road to motorway....what so ever i was not expecting such a milage...
Well that's exceptional, but santro does give excellent mileage on long drives, I recently travelled from isb to multan via lahore & back (M2 & N5) and the round trip costed me 3500 rupees in fuel cost (No CNG load-shedding due to eid vacations), on average empty FF CNG cylinder re-fill was costing 430 - 460 against average run of 175 - 195 KM.

I don't think it gets any cheaper than this

changed both side outer CV joints+boots (axles) from Hyundai sowan motors for Rs. 4500/- (before Eid it was Rs. 4000/-) and the labour cost was Rs. 1,000/- (Before EID it was Rs. 1200/-)

After installing the CV joints, i asked the guy that how he filled the grease, so he shocked me when he told me that he has divided the grease between outer and inner joints, normally the grease comes in packing with a joint is only for that joint, but he emptied both the joints and fill in the new grease half-half.
now i think the grease comes in the packing is of certain quantity (around 100 grams) for each joint anything more or less than that quantity will be bad for the joint. but the idiot done like what he learned from Ustaad in his own way.

correct me if i am wrong.

if i am correct then should i go for the filling of more grease to both the outer and inner joints for both sides?

I used to hear a "raan raan" sound like something was touching the tyres when the car was moving. I discussed it with the mechanic and he said that this is the typical indication of worn out bearings...

There is absolutely no such noise after the change of bearings....
Just a little note , Santro Rear wheel bearing cannot change , if some thing happens owner have to change whole wheel hub

I am not an expert, but may be my post helps.

1: check brake callipers at left wheel along with brake pads, it may be loose.
2: in second gear at speed of 60KM/H it is very normal, why you are doing so??
3: which brake pads you are using currently? i think the brake pads are not up to the mark, i am using FRIXA (FRIXA) Korean brakes, which are really impressive i got these from Imran autos for Rs. 800/- while the same pads available at Hyundai sowan motors for Rs. 1250/- they are also selling the same brand as OEM. you should check the pads along with other parts your left wheel vibration might have also associated with brakes.

i know it is not related to your problem, because speed is speed for wheels whether it is in 1st or 2nd gear, but it was unknown to me that your santro is moded. i myself drive sometimes till 50 km/h in 2nd gear and till 80 KM/H in 3rd gear with stock everything. (due to high RPM in lower gears, engine vibration due to mounting damaged could be the possible reason for your problem of wheel vibration, but don't know moded engines RPM levels)

hope your problems will be fixed soon, best of luck.

Still suggest the Pirelli 155/70x13. Excellent braking and low road noise. Will save you fuel money in the long run, and car is a few mm higher too, so car clears road obstacles too! :-)
Have done 10000kn on the new set and very satisfied.

    Default Tri Ace

I had decided to buy only 2011 manufactured tyres. While buying I did check the dates on two and assumed that dates would be there on remaining two as well. Once reached home I found that 3 out of 4 tyres had the year / month of manufacture, where as one stupid tyre was with out it............
What does it imply? Should I go and check it with the shopkeeper?
