Guys... Guys.. Santro parts like timing belt is quite rare to find in remote cities like Abbottabad.. I don't know the brand of the belt (I'm sure it wasn't "totally" genuine coz it costed me 400).. I had to replace the previous belt and didn't have time to get it changed from Islamabad so i opted for whatever i could lay my hands on....

@Horse-rider my pleasure.....and about Mobis..the Hyundai Shop told me that Hyundai has stopped making spare-parts for Santro/Atos/Amica so they have contracted Mobis for making parts for Santro...i dont know whether Hyundai own Mobis or not...but tht i am sure tht Mobis are the authorized parts maufacturers of Santro...!!!!
@Morani u did the right thingy....i guess u know what kinda damage a broken timing belt can cause to the engine...if u dont ,check youtube for that... a lil cost of belt/bearing change can save u lots of money and headache...in ur case as u said ur belt was showing signs of decay...so its very good tht u got it replaced...!!! in my case the belt was in very good shape at 82k, but still i had it changed....lets hope n pray tht we and our engines remain at peace

^^ (use Mobis with confidence )

Hyundai Mobis (short for Mobile and System, Korean: 현대모비스) was established in 1977 as Hyundai Precision & Industries Corporation(Korean: 현대정공/現代精工). It is an auto parts company with headquarters based in Seoul, South Korea. In 2000, the company changed its name to Hyundai Mobis. The company forms the 'parts and service' arm for Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Motors, both of which are Korean brands.

Another adventure is awaiting MOBIS, as the company merged with Hyundai Autonet in 2009. The future technologies for automobiles need a systematic integration of both mechanical and electronic parts and MOBIS is now prepared to take on the future.

    @aqib

Q.1 its rpm stop at a point for many second n comes down slowly
Ans. Yes thats a built in feature of the car and a good one i must say. It helps your car's engine to stay alive even after hard braking. The rpm will become normal as soon as your car stops.

Q.2 sometimes it stops at a point n dont come down. it seems dat drver has put his foot on accelerator.
Ans. This happens to most of all not a big deal, I normally press the accelerator a little bit and it gets normal. To resolve this issue get the sensor on the throttle body cleaned.

Q.3 i went to a mechanic n he told me dat throttle body needs service.
i went to another mechanic n he told me dat servicing wont rectify the prblm, throttle body needs to b changed.
Ans. Dont listen to any of them they dont know nothing. i'll recommend you to get a tuneup from the 3S workshop and you'll be good to go.
A routine tuneup at 3s includes.
    1. Throttle body cleaning
    2. Sensors Cleaning
    3. Tappets adjustment
    4. Computer Checking etc
Once you get this done you'll be good to go, and the charges are not that big either almost 400~700 at-most.

    Best Regards
    Adeel

@ALL, please check the throttle position sensor TPS using the following method. and share your results. I am sharing my result as well, which is I think okay. I want to check with your readings so that it will be confirmed that the sensor is working properly or not. I will also check other sensors and will share the results for other sensors whenever i find some free time, with this procedure we all fans will be able to check the sensors one by one ourselves.

    THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR (TPS) EFTC7130

The TP Sensor is a rotating type variable resistor that rotates with the throttle body's throttle shaft to sense the throttle valve angle. As the throttle shaft rotates, the throttle angle of the TP Sensor changes and the ECM detects the throttle valve opening based on the TPS output voltage.

    TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS

The TPS signal is important for the control of an automatic transaxles. Shift shock and other trouble may occur if the sensor is faulty.

If the idle condition or acceleration is abnormal, check the TPS connector. (When the TPS connector is not connected properly, the current data on HI-SCAN can show that the idle state remains off, although the accelerater pedal is released. This results in the improper idle or acceleration.)

Input voltage from throttle position sensor is below 0.1V or above 4.7V when ignition switch is turned on.

    USING VOLTMETER

    Throttle position sensor output voltage
    At idle rpm
    0.1 - 0.875V

    Wide open throttle
    4.25 - 4.8V

    Hyundai Santro Fan Club -338126
    Hyundai Santro Fan Club -1542439
    SENSOR INSPECTION

Disconnect the throttle position sensor connector.

Measure the resistance between terminals 2 (sensor ground) and terminal 1 (sensor power).

    Standard value : 0.7 - 3.0 kΩ

Connect an analog ohmmeter between terminals 2 (sensor ground) and terminal 3 (sensor output).

Operate the throttle valve slowly from the idle position to the fuel open position, and check that the resistance changes smoothly in proportion with the throttle valve opening angle.

If the resistance is out of specification, or fails to change smoothly, replace the throttle position sensor.

    MY SANTRO RESULT

    Contacts points----------At Idle------------At full throttle

    1 & 3--------------------2.91 K Ohm--------1.30 K Ohm
    1 & 2--------------------1.99 K Ohm--------1.99 K Ohm
    2 & 3--------------------1.17 K Ohm--------2.70 K Ohm

Contact 2 & 3 has checked and upon changing the throttle position with my hand the resistance was changing smoothly which means that the throttle body works perfectly. the resistance between 1 & 2 is 1.99 which is under the specs of 0.7-3.0 K Ohm. the voltage will be checked tomorrow and result will be shared.

Suggestions for the the next sensor checking are welcomed.

Thanks for reading such a long post.

    ...rear shock (pair or repair??)
if pair...do u mean u got both the rear shocks replaced for 1800 ??? tell me the make/brand of ur new shocks please (i wana clarify my doubts coz if i properly remember a single rear shock is available for 2500/- and hence 5000/- for a pair) .....but if u have reproduced the transliteration of the bill...it might have been "repair" which to u looked like "pair" in mechanic's gulabi urdu
and yea...why did u do the replacements/repair?? noisy shocks?? leaking shocks or bumpy ride?? or why?? circumstances?.....and wht difference have u felt after getting all this work done...thanxx

@rizkhan.. the rear shocks were brand new gabriel shocks ( and pair)... and i changed them because on broken roads it felt that my ride had no shocks.
and yesterday while travelling from Lahore to Islamabad through G.T. road, i feel a big difference in comfort. also the ride height is also increased.

Stopped car somewhere and when cameback and tried to start only very dim inner light and no ignition start.... it happens with me 5 times at different occasions but each time after little chayrh chaarh with cables inside the bonet, my ride got right....

The problem was loose connection of battery terminal... and now there is no problem
