Default why NO to kia classic?

was looking for a cheaper second car for home use and considered kia classic. a nice car with decent accessories and overall a very attractive package, but everyone said 'hath nahi dalna' i was wondering why. it was launched in 2000 then discontinued then again started production in 2003 and then stopped in 2005 right. so what was wrong with the car, searched a lot on pw and got mixed views. the car was priced good at its time, if people say its design was outdated then it was as boxy as a mehran so whats wrong? besides it offered power windows, mirrors perhaps, power antenna, rpm meter, ac, cng and most important was spacious & being a sedan was more practical. okay, but what if one considers it as a second car to be sparingly used. i think would be available for around 300000 only and parts as far as i know are not that hard to find or is it? kia pride still runs on road where does its parts come from?? i hope maintaining a classic should not be a issue. is it a good buy?? please guide thanks

go for it and best of luck. Actually we should change the trend, dare r just 3 brands honda, toyota and suzuki, what is this, we pks just 3 choices? sooo sad, varity should available, and it happened only if we all buy those cars, so that market value, spare parts availibility and resell value increased of other brands.
Every car has a lot of speed in it. The trick is getting the speed out of it.

Kia Classis has a bad reputation because of its Design...

But in drive I have heard good thing about it, like it is driven like real 1300cc cars, Steering is very light and very spacious.

Price is also good, if you are looking for a Sedan with Economical Price then go for Kia Classis but keeping in mind that it is not in Production Lineup...

    Friends!

Just got meself a 2002 ngv classic. I made a concious decision, considering that for around 300K, the other options were hardly comparable.

I'll keep you guys posted on how this experience turns out. Wish me luck with the new purchase..

    Cheers!B-)

    Thanks pappubhai!

I like the ride, it's got a big car's feel without the size and the consumption. Also, I feel as if the car gives me better mileage than my khyber.

The air cond is really awesome. I got it tuned and got the original kia air filter for 250/- Got it's brakes cleaned, replaced it's rims. Four original rims costed me around 2500/-.

So far this experience is turning out to be great. parts are easily available, and yes, indeed are not expensive.

It has loads of space and the seats are very comfy. It was absolute joy driving it over from lahore on motorway. the engine feels responsive and strong. the salt rande inclines were no challenge. i was a little concened about it's braking distance but inside lahore on several occasions the car didn't disappoint me in its braking.

Well. this is the initial review, i'll keep you guys posted on how the car wears and tears over time.

I've been using this car for last five years. Best value for money. Best drive, Cheap maintenance, Parts are easily available. Some times at Motorway it really give incredible performance and give tough time to modern sedans of vehicles costing 2-2.5 million. Best to buy. Go for it. But buy it after complete checkup from some good mechanic. Best decision of the life. Further, I'm amazed how people are cursing this car. You are spending 300K and you're comparing it with city or corrolla. My point is compare with cars of 300K like Mehran, Alto, Old Cultus. It clearly superseed all.
