Default Self Tuning - Khyber G-10 (Plugs, valve clearance, spark gap etc)

    Salam

    dear members/experts

I own a khyber 1996. Recently overhauled its engine completely at home by myself except the mechanist part. It has its first oil change at 1100Km yesterday and i am planning to tune it. I have following query for the learned members/experts

Q.1. recommended spark plugs for khyber g-10 on CNG
    Q.2. Recommended spark plug gap?
    Q.3. Recommended tappet setting Hot/cold?
Q.4. Running was on petrol with Caltex Havoline formula and now i have switched to CNG with Shell helix HX7 10-40W (synthetic) , is shell HX7 ok?

What else should i do or check to get max output and efficiency from my g-10?

    regards

after-note: In addition to the above queries, this thread also contains info on carburetor, AC, electrical, cooling system, brakes & gear issues related to khyber G-10.

Special thanks to following experts :
Xulfiqar, Fas133, Margallar, Ahsanzs, wasay_Ahmad, Xplorer, jz, Daniyal
for their valuable contributions and last but not least
I am greatful to Cracked for keeping this thread alive by
    raising all the queries/question.

Removing dash board is not very difficult and you can drive even without DB but for this you have to directly connect a few wires (2 or 3).
Actually there is one (or two perhaps) large grips of wires on right side and one small grip on left side (behind the glove box). It means some wires are going through the DB harness.
When you drive without DB you have to attach wires between these two grips.

disc brakes : shouldn't the tyres spin freely with little resistance? :/

    @axe.effect,
I have feeling that waseem auto is costly for nothing. I always liked the things purchased from Kohinoor traders with reasonable price difference. Kiani auto of gwalmandi is also very much doubt full. Might b others experience with kohinoor isnt good, but i always got quality product from em. Waseem nd kiani walay will keep u confuse about diffrnt qualities of prodct.

This is why I mostly buy Suzuki stuff from Kohinoor traders, Potohar Autos and Rahim Autos (G-8 at the back street of Universal Car AC).
But since my cousin has been using the same brake discs for over a year (around 30,000 km) and they are working good, so this is why i had to buy from there.

G8..... uff.... there is another autopart store, adjacent to rahim auto,i think adnan ya esa kuch name hai shop ka. he is loooter.
Last month i purchased aisin clutch plate set for friends coure from him for 5800/- nd clutch bearing for 1000/-. mechanic (sajid from rawal motor) asked me to take it to khradia at firebrigade. We took it there nd that khradia(very nice guy) told me that this is bit used. I told him, just purchased, but he said, no its used. Kher thought to take it back to that shop but then one thought k it will cost time to go back nd come back. So me nd frnd decided to purchase new one from here nd then will return that one to him when we will be back there. Kher we purchased new same brand for 4800/- from badar auto at firebrigade. I also asked for clutch bearing, he told us that its for 650/-
rest is a unformal story, but that shopkeeper is a thug...his shop is with the street going back to universal ac

The looter you talk about is mechanic and parts shop combined. I do not buy stuff from combined shops.

Rahim Autos person is decent and honest, never had a bad experience with him.

I use 82C thermostat valve and 92C fan switch. You need to buy water jacket gasket (jen in urdu) and silicon too, to seal the upper and lower water jacket body.

Today, I installed a button on the dashboard that directs the fan, in case if auto fan switch malfunctions.

I am thinking to add a small bulb inside to know when fan is on nd qhen its off. Currently working on 3 projects
    1. Maintainance of floor.
Almost completed. New piece welded. Now all floor is ok. Bought rubber seals to block drain holes. There is a bit rust on floor, want to paint it but u know our pk norms. Market value dropped if internally painted. My painter frnd told me to get black compound nd soak it in petrol for 2 days. It will b soft like cream. Then apply it on rusty portions.

    2. Tstat valve nd thermo switch...tstat fitted, jacket broken so unfinished

    3. Fuel guage isnt showing correct value. Grounded guage wire coming from dashboard, needle goes to full mark... means that portion is ok. Now have to remove tank nd chck the internal part, wotever it is.

Yea, its ok. Fitted with old jacket of fx, started engine, opened radiator cap, there was no movement of water like whirlpool which was before this installation. Now have to check whether it opens nd on wot temp.
I chcked it at home by putting it in hot water, it opened a little before boiling water.

still waiting for some to reply for wiring of fan switch. Imho, it shld b connected same like a normal nd manual on off switch.
