Default Self Tuning - Khyber G-10 (Plugs, valve clearance, spark gap etc)

    Salam

    dear members/experts

I own a khyber 1996. Recently overhauled its engine completely at home by myself except the mechanist part. It has its first oil change at 1100Km yesterday and i am planning to tune it. I have following query for the learned members/experts

Q.1. recommended spark plugs for khyber g-10 on CNG
    Q.2. Recommended spark plug gap?
    Q.3. Recommended tappet setting Hot/cold?
Q.4. Running was on petrol with Caltex Havoline formula and now i have switched to CNG with Shell helix HX7 10-40W (synthetic) , is shell HX7 ok?

What else should i do or check to get max output and efficiency from my g-10?

    regards

after-note: In addition to the above queries, this thread also contains info on carburetor, AC, electrical, cooling system, brakes & gear issues related to khyber G-10.

Special thanks to following experts :
Xulfiqar, Fas133, Margallar, Ahsanzs, wasay_Ahmad, Xplorer, jz, Daniyal
for their valuable contributions and last but not least
I am greatful to Cracked for keeping this thread alive by
    raising all the queries/question.

Nadir Autos (051530917, 051555069), in Gawalmandi is also a reasonable parts dealer. He is adjacent to Kiyani.
I bought complete engine overhauling samaan from him. Compared his rates with Kiyani as well.

A good and honest mechanic recommended for people living near I-10, Islamabad:
    Mechanic Nisar Khan
    03003772163
    Car Clinic
    Shaheen Market
    I-10/1, Islamabad

He has done complete engine overhauling of my Khyber. Took only 4500/- labor and has done every thing very neatly. A good thing about him is that his workshop is not at a mainstream place, that's why he is not very busy. Otherwise mechanics are working on 3 or 4 cars at the same time and most work is done by chotay ustads.

So what is the complete engine overhaul cost of Khyber nowadays?

Re purchased water jacket from g10 for 200/- same quality. Clear the part where tstat has to fit. On cleaning, found a cut type fitting space carved inside that piece, cleaned scratched that, then refitted tstat, it fitted well, applied sealant, jane, sealent, upper jacket nd bolted it with care. Left it for 30 mins, refilled radiator with water, checked for leakage, which wasnt Alhamdulillah. Started the car, nd carefully watched water in radiator, heat needle nd,left engine start. water was cold till 10-15 mins inradiator, while needle was showing its getting hot.... nd then all of a sudden tstat worked nd water of radiator got hot. Ist test successfull.

Disconnected fan, conneted thermo switch with fan. Restarted the engine. Fan wasnt working. Water was hot. After a while it got a lot hot nd seems like near to boil nd fan kicked..... 2nd test success full.
Will do propet wiring for fan nd will attach a led with fan to know when its on nd when its not....

as per ur suggestion, On sunday, took car to dentor, he cut a bit nd welded new piece. Now have to apply something other than paint to floor to avoid rust. Paint is not suggested by painter nd some frnds as in pakistan, old rusted but genuine car has more value then good looking unrusted fully painted car. My cars floors are totally genuine nd this is the first cut in em. All in original shape..... so em looking for some alternate.....

yes, you are right about him. Best of luck for your projects.

there was an overheating buzzer i saw in some taxi similar to the photo i attached.

In my car, the thermostat valve opens at around 40% and the fan starts at 45% gauge. Multimeter shows that to be around 82C and 92C.

i think you should sand the area where the new metal is welded, then use a newspaper and masking tape so that the paint only gets to the repaired patch. once all clean and ready take it to a painter. but make sure it is properly masked.

i like to make a square shape with masking tape, that way the painted spot looks neater, it will also show potential buyers that only that spot was fixed, not the whole floor

for places with light surface rust, remove loose rust with a sandpaper, around 1000 grit should be okay, then clean the spot with a 10% vinegar solution, finally cover it up with rust reformer (available at metro for around 1400, one spray can will be enough). mask the spot like earlier and spray the rust reformer.

you can cover up the rust reformer with matching paint using a paint brush

i think there is air in the cooling system, i think you should let it idle with the radiator cap off for 10-15 minutes

the rust converter is very easy to use,you can even have a kid do it for you.

I left it for idle 10-15 min in start after installing tstat nd topping wid water. I closed the cap after tstat open, fan kicked nd after 5 min of that. But while i was covering car with cover, engine was cooling so i heared the sound

Bubbling sound also happens if radiator cap is weak. As you turn off the car, the coolant comes out from reservoir bottle overflow pipe.

Radiator cap is good, new nd no leakage. Well will monitor again. As that was the first time i refilled after flushing. Maybe water was getting inside out from tstat valve.
I want to know that when fan kicked, the heat needle was at 15%. May b sensor wasnt ok.
Another main concern, wot if switch malfunctioned? fan wont start, engine could be damaged....
