Default Self Tuning - Khyber G-10 (Plugs, valve clearance, spark gap etc)

    Salam

    dear members/experts

I own a khyber 1996. Recently overhauled its engine completely at home by myself except the mechanist part. It has its first oil change at 1100Km yesterday and i am planning to tune it. I have following query for the learned members/experts

Q.1. recommended spark plugs for khyber g-10 on CNG
    Q.2. Recommended spark plug gap?
    Q.3. Recommended tappet setting Hot/cold?
Q.4. Running was on petrol with Caltex Havoline formula and now i have switched to CNG with Shell helix HX7 10-40W (synthetic) , is shell HX7 ok?

What else should i do or check to get max output and efficiency from my g-10?

    regards

after-note: In addition to the above queries, this thread also contains info on carburetor, AC, electrical, cooling system, brakes & gear issues related to khyber G-10.

Special thanks to following experts :
Xulfiqar, Fas133, Margallar, Ahsanzs, wasay_Ahmad, Xplorer, jz, Daniyal
for their valuable contributions and last but not least
I am greatful to Cracked for keeping this thread alive by
    raising all the queries/question.

I am planning to go to mechanic on Saturday. Because before that most of spare part shops will b closed. On Saturday i hope k all business will be back to running.

    suggest good engine oil.
Suggest good gear oil as m planning to ask to open gear box due to humming sound on 5th gear nd grinding sound on returning to 2nd & ist gear
My wheel hub or disks are also having prob, brake pedal badly jumps when breaks applied at speed of 80 plus. Disks already changed, think prob of hub..

Engine oil: I use Caltex Havoline 20W50 and change it after 3500 Km. I am satisfied with it. I buy it from a reputed place like Metro.
Gear Oil: Mechanics will suggest you to pour a thick gear oil like PSO 140. Don't go for it. Khyber manual recommends thinner gear oil like 75W or 85W. Zic is a good brand. I bought a Korean gear oil this time and it is also good. 500 Rs/L

Brake Pedal Jumping and Vibration: I was having the same problem with my Khyber. When I used to apply brakes, the brake pedal used to jump. Tool applied on both front disks and rear drums. The inner side of the axles which are connected to gear box were also worn. Got them repaired as well. Problem solved. Its smooth now.

I have a suzuki mehran, it works fine on cng but on petrol it feels heavy and acceleration is reduced. Before i thought its problem of distributor shaft having little play in it which messes with timing but it should be on cng too.

Dont know what exactly tools are required.... but i have lot of em nd i tries to purchase whatever nd whichever i need. If its easy nd will go perfectly ok then i wana try else if can create some problem like thermostate valve nd auto switch did, then wana visit mechanic. Actually in installing tstat, i think wot i missed is proper flushing nd air got trapped at any stage.....
So if you can guide properly then wana try, else will prefer mechanic

Filled radiator yesterday morning with water. Checked now, it was at same level. Means no leakage atleast. Started car. Started well. But with ignition, it throws water out of radiator with pressure.. but when engine is running, no movement in water. Like there was before... i was thinking that ok gasket is blown, but water should circulate in radiator... wit are the possibilities of fins damage of water body. Which are not pushing water inside out....just an idea. Because water in radiator remains super cold even after running engine till 10 mins...while engine got hot..

+1 at the gear oil speedster101 posted. I use the same.

Atleast get your car checked by some mechanic nearby. Engine overheat is a very serious issue and it ruins the engine, head and empties your wallet. My friend told me that kabli head costed them almost 15000rs + overhauling expense, as their engine seized due to overheating resulting in a warped or cracked head.

tooled the discs? were they shot? khyber has hub over disc setup which is itself a pain to service, never compromise on the discs in that setup.

how thick are the discs now?

btw - coolant not moving in the radiator is a sign of air lock or the waterpump is shot - did you replace it? or atleast remove and check it?

Clean the carburetor upper hat thoroughly, spray carb cleaner in all holes and passages.

Replace the power piston with a new one

Check the carburetor's float for leaks, dip it in water, it should not sink

    @Xulfiqar,

is there any better carburetor available for these margalla/cultus/khyber, something that is more precise then the original ones, adapter plates could be used to mount them on the stock manifold

i wish there is one that is available brand new and equipped with autochoke, just jet it according to the car and you are good

throttle body is repaired, tooled and refurbished, air passage is cleaned, i have done it by my self..
i think the butter fly in which the mixture screw its seat has gone bad. i have changed the mixture screw 2 times, (original khyber, and margla) both didnt work.
tomorrow i will again open the carburetor and try to solve it. if it didnt work then need to replace the butterfly assy. even i have consulted many mechanics but the result is same.
